As Jason floated through space, the ISS got bigger and bigger until his bulky cyber enhanced body slammed against the outer hull of the station. He grasped onto the side to keep from bouncing away, tearing off the panels as he slid across the outside of the station.

Inside the ISS personal tunnel #6, Yuri looked up at the ceiling.

"Did you hear that?" He asked Alison, who was busy making repairs. "It sounded like another collision."

"I'm sure it's just a mess out there," she said. "You want to go out and take a look?"

"No way," said Yuri, "that's Doc's job."

"Not today," said Doc, coming into the tunnel from the main access shaft, "I've apparently got to go on an EVA to repair a dimensional portal." He held up the star industries binder. "At least there's a manual and some spare parts."

"Spare parts?" Yuri was surprised. "You don't pack spare parts unless you expect them not to work."

"Exactly," said Doc, "this is a real Mickey Mouse job if I've ever seen one. Anyway, one of you has to survey the exterior of the station and make a repair list."

Yuri groaned and slumped his shoulders.

"I'll do it!" Alison cherped.

"Really?" Yuri asked relieved.

"Sure," said Alison, "I could use the spacewalk hours."

"Thank god," sighed Yuri.

"Listen," said Doc, "I don't care who does it, as long as it is done by the time I get back. If this thing is damaging critical systems, I want to know about it before we boot this thing up again."

The outer airlock door opened. Out came Doc in his EVA suit and his EVA jet sled. He locked the sled's computer onto the portal device. He twisted the throttle and jets of plasma sprayed from the sides of the sled.

He drifted away from the space station out into the vacuum. His breath began to panic. He did his best to control himself.

It doesn't matter how much time you spend in space, thought Doc, once you're out here, alone, with nothing nearby as a reference point, it makes your heart race with fear. So easy to get lost. Without this sled, I'm as good as dead.

He checked the tether that connected his suit to the sled again.
