"Do Peter?"

"He's my best friend." You laughed, not looking at her.

"That's not what I meant." She smirked.

"Why does everyone keep asking me that?"

"Because it's clear he likes you."

"No, he said he likes someone else. I thought it was Liz...but it's not."

"You don't think it could be you?"

"Did Tony mention anything about making me a suit?" You asked, changing the subject, "I think my training has been really good."

"I think he's finished it."

"And thanks, Wanda." You gave her a warm smile.

It's been a few weeks since the sleepover and you have gotten really close to her and some other Avengers since then. Peter told you that he was forbidden to tell you his secret when you saw him in school, and he seemed really distraught. It bothered you that he felt like he could share these things with Ned and not you. You told him it was fine and that you understood, but you were always a bad liar and he could tell it didn't set right with you. You've been working on your poker face more recently and it's come in handy.

"I should get going, the party is tonight, and I need to find a dress. You sure you don't want to find one with me? Natasha is going too."

"Pepper picked me out so many dresses, I don't think I'll have any trouble in that department!" You laughed, "Thanks though."

"Are you bringing a date?" She asked, raising her eyebrows.

"Nope! Nobody would go with this hot mess anyways."

"Maybe invite Ned...or Peter."

"Nice try," You rolled your eyes, "I'm going stag."

"Okay. Oh, and Pepper asked me to remind you that you have a meeting with Tony's lawyers and your parents on Monday."

"Do I get to miss school for it?" You smirked.

"No, she made sure to schedule it for after, at four." She gave you a smirk right back and you pouted, making her laugh.

After she left, you got off your bed and wandered into the closet. You rifled through the dresses and sighed. They were all beautiful, you just couldn't help wishing that Peter was coming as your date. You'd been kind of distant from him after the sleepover and you missed him dearly. It was just hard to go back to the way it was after that.

There was a faint knock on your bedroom door, so you made your way to it. You had on shorts, a tank top, a robe over it and some slippers. You closed the robe before you opened the door and when you did you were met with Spiderman himself.

"Hey." He said, sounding kind of sad.

"Hey, it's been a while." You smiled.

Truth was, you hadn't seen Spiderman in almost a month, and you missed him too. It was always so easy with him because even though he couldn't reveal his identity or much about himself, he was open and honest with you in every other way. You knew that he'd have to keep many secrets, and it honestly was refreshing to know that going in.

"Yeah, sorry about that."

"Don't worry about it, it's not like any of the others are here every day. Being a superhero keeps ya busy."

"Can I come in?"

"Oh, yeah! Sure." You nodded and stood aside so he could get through the door and you closed it behind you.
