'Zain really loves you' Ramsha said to me all of a sudden the next day as I was getting my hair and makeup done. I finished the call with Sana to inform her about everything that was going on since she couldn't come over to my house as her reception party was taking place the next day.

'Did you hear what I said?' She asked me again.

'Ramsha...I...' I stopped when my phone started ringing. Zain was calling me.

'I am going to give you some privacy' Ramsha leaned over and looked at my phone and went outside, taking the hair and makeup artist with her.

'Hello,' I answered, glancing at myself in the mirror. My makeup was almost done and hair still needed some attention.

'Hi...how are you?' I heard him say.

'I am fine...how are you?' I asked him, feeling every single passing second that was bringing us together.

'I am very happy Maya, are you happy?' He asked me.

'Everyone is happy' I answered.

'I am not asking about everyone, I am asking about you' He persisted.

'Maya' My mother entered the room before I could give him an answer.

'Which jewelry do you think will go best with your dress?' My mother brought boxes of jewelry and placed them in front of me. She was over the moon, she wanted everything to go smoothly and be on time.

'Zain...I will talk to you later...' I told him while my mother looked at me smiling.

'I'll see you soon' He replied instead and ended the call.

'My daughter looks lovely' My mother and sister stayed in the room until I got fully ready. My mother rushed to the market in the morning to get me a new dress to wear today. It was a beautiful crème white colored dress with beautiful stones work near the neck area and around the sleeves. I picked my mother's earrings that she wore on her wedding to complete the outfit. Meanwhile, my father went to get a ring for Zain.

'They are here' Ramsha came rushing into the room about an hour later to announce Zain's arrival.

'Look at you' Anum approached with a huge smile on her face me as soon as she saw me entering the room.

'Thank you' I smiled at her, feeling Zain's eyes on me immediately upon my arrival. Anum walked me to where Zain was sitting and I sat down next to him. He was wearing a black suit and a white shirt, looking great as always. He always looked polished and well dressed.

'Doesn't she look pretty?' Anum asked Zain, pulling his leg.

'Like always' He replied in a heartbeat and I felt my face getting warmer.

'Can we exchange the rings now Nosheen?' Jamila Aunty asked my mother, eager to start the ceremony. My mother nodded in agreement and came to stand next to me along with my father.

Zain pulled out a ring from his pocket and extended his hand towards me to take. I gave him my hand and he slipped a beautiful gold ring in my ring finger as I did the same for him. We were officially betrothed to each other.

'Lunch is ready, should I prepare the table?' Our house helper came to the living room moments later and my mother and Jamila Aunty went to the kitchen.

'Ramsha, come here' Zain called out my sister a while later when she was sitting with me and Anum and Zain was in the room next door with his father and mine. Ramsha went to the room and returned with a piece of paper secretly secured in her hand.

'This is for you' Ramsha passed me the paper. I was about to open it but she stopped it.

'He said to read it after he is gone' Ramsha told me so I asked her to put it away in my room so I can read it later.
