Love, Life and Living with Cancer

I am messing with my hair, trying to get ready for my date with Seth, when my mum came into my room.

"Are you sure you're up to going out? I mean, your heart is getting worse so you mustn't strain it." she was stressing again. It wasn't really because of my heart, well maybe a little bit, but it was mostly because she thought I was to young to seriously date. This was rediculous. She met my dad when she was fourteen and was pregnant with my sister at 16.

"I'm fine mum. I'm just going for pizza! It's no big." I told her. What did she think I was going to do? Get attacked by some pepperoni?

So I went on my date. Seth came to my house and we walked down to the bus stop. We spent the journey talking utter nonsense.

"Hey, did I tell you? I was at home the other day, and my mum comes up to me and says: "Seth, why are so tanned?" and I'm just looking at her and she's smiling!"

"Oh my gosh!" I say through my laughing. "I love you!"

As soon as I have said it I have realise what I have done. Although I was merely saying what I was thinking, I couldn't believe I had admitted it.

"What? You..." he wasn't talking. What had I done? "I love you too."

And then he kissed me, his warm lips touching mine. When we separated, I looked in his amazing green eyes and smiled. We were in love and I was going to get a new heart. What could go wrong in my life?
