Sorry for disappearing folks, life in general has been demanding and more importantly on with the story

Chapter 5

Max walked in to Adrian's room whistling.

"Someone's happy" Adrian quipped a smile playing on his lips, the doom and gloom Max had taken a back seat for now.

Max just smiled and slid in the seat opposite to the table.

"Anything you need?" Adrian asked.

"Yes, apparently I cannot move funds around and need Roma's approval?" he asked questioningly.

"What for?" Adrian asked.

"We need to release some funds to consolidate our business operations in Brazil" Max added.

"Ah!" Adrian stated and explained "Let me get on the phone and clear it up, while you were playing sleeping beauty we consolidated all authority under Ro....Evelyn...you should be able to get your hand on what you need by afternoon. In-fact let me ask the finance guy to meet you, we have been conservative since Evelyn took over, you might need to look at the books in detail. Not that we did bad, but we held off on a few things as well"

"And by the way" Adrian added cautiously "You might hear people referring to Evelyn as Roma...you need to understand we had to consolidate authority under her in a fucking hurry..."

"and the best way to do that was give her the authority of Roma" Max added quite understandingly.

"But..." he asked "Would the alphas not know? Would they not sense the authority of Roma?"

"We kept her far from most folks and let the trusting inner circle in on it...we need to maintain it for now...especially with your situation" Adrian added, was not the perfect explanation but would do for now and he knew this would bite him in the ass when Max would learn the truth, eventually.

Max nodded.

"And talking of wolf" Adrian added further "Any sign of yours?"

Max sighed loudly "Nope, missing, cant feel him" he frowned "not sure what the problem is, but the doctor says take it easy for a few months and then we could try a few things but he is confident he would come back naturally"

"So, you are like a total human now?" Adrian asked, this was one of a kind issue.

"No, pretty much have my strength...cannot morph in to wolf and cannot feel him all wolf instincts are gone"

"Wow" Adrian said, leaning back in to his chair "I am sure he will come back in time"

"Yeah" Max said "I have decided to not worry for now and build my strength and general health back" He said but both knew it was easier said then done, without his wolf he must be sure out of his element.

"Take it easy Max, we have it covered for now" Adrian reassured.

"I know" Max said, "That's why I am getting it to the business side of it, doing nothing is driving me crazy... luckily I can still be of use there."

Adrian nodded.

"And" Max added "Do let me know if I can help on the other side as well, at can utilize my head for now"

Adrian agreed, "absolutely"

Max stood up "ok, got some meetings lined up, see you later" and with that he walked out.

Adrian sat, thinking deeply.

"So, Max paid me a visit" Adrian stated. Adrian and Roma were meeting in her office.
