The Attack

Will

Will spoke a greeting to Jason when he saw him waiting where he always did on the road, Jason gave one back and they headed on their way to school. Malcolm met them on the way and the three of them talked about their nights after they had left each other, whether they had done any more revision for the tests or just chilled out. Once they got that topic of conversation out of the way they usually discussed other things from going over favourite films to discussing the latest comic book they had read. This morning they were debating which Star Wars film was the best one, Malcolm favourite was Empire Strikes Back, Jason was all about A New Hope and Will himself was in favour of Return of the Jedi, they all had valid points for their respected movie choice and in the end, they couldn't give it to one film and all agreed they were great films and wondered whether any more would be made. They all hoped there would be more, but it was unknown as Return of the Jedi had ended it magnanimously, still it was so popular they expected something would be done with it. The discussion took them all the way to school.

Once they got to school, they stayed in the playground and messed around for a bit, some of the other kids joined them in a game of tag, this was a lot of fun and they all got tired out by all the running they were doing. He noticed a group of girls from his class didn't get involved and stood on the sidelines, he recognised them as Lisa, Jess, Carol, and Alice, they usually stayed together and sometimes got involved with games, other times they gossiped amongst themselves. Will occasionally spoke to her in school, but she was quite indifferent to him and would only reply politely and try and get rid of him as soon as possible. She had brown hair and green eyes and usually wore a dress of some kind to school.

Too soon did the bell ring and they go inside to lessons. That morning they had a double period of science which was filled with them doing a couple of different tests, one for each individual subject. Will found the physics one was a little tricky as it did involve a bit of math, but he did alright on it, the other two were a lot easier for him to complete and he particularly enjoyed the chemistry one. After they had done the tests they could go on a break, so he and his friends ran outside again and played for a bit.

The break finished, they went back inside, the teacher had them do a geography and RE test then. Will found both easy to complete as he had good knowledge for both subjects when he looked around the room once he had finished filling in his tests, he saw that some of the kids had finished like him whilst others were struggling with the exam. He was sure they would all figure it out in the end and they would all pass. The bell soon summoned them to lunch and the kids left hurriedly, Will certainly knew he was hungry and it was Pizza day in the cafeteria which was good as he really liked eating that, so did many of the other kids, particularly the bullies so you had to be careful with your lunch money and lunch once you got it or they would take it from you. Fortunately for Will he usually stayed with a group of kids and they didn't like to take on so many in one go, so he got to enjoy the pizza without worrying about losing it. Once he had finished eating, he and his friends went outside and had a game of marbles and this lasted for the rest of the lunch hour. When they got back into class the teacher told them the good news that all the tests had been done and he would get them marked and give them the results on the last day of school and for the rest of the time he would be doing fun lessons. With that, he went and showed them a cool chemistry experiment for the rest of the lesson and explained what was going on.

Arnold

Arnold thought he had done ok on the tests they had done that day and was glad that they weren't going to do anymore, he enjoyed the chemistry experiment the teacher showed them and then the bell rang, and school was finished for the day. He was one of the last ones to leave the classroom, he had plenty of time to get home and he didn't have to look after his little brothers today which was good, they weren't too bad and yesterday they had been fine but sometimes they could be very annoying and difficult to control if they were excited. He decided to head the long way home so that he had some time to himself and so that he could think, this meant heading towards the nice suburb instead of going towards the centre of town where their shop was. Most of the kids that went to school lived in various suburbs around the town, the middle-class students were mostly in this nice suburb, so it hardly surprised him to see several of his classmates walking along this way as well. He became lost in thought and didn't really pay attention to his surroundings for a while, he knew where he was going and didn't fear getting hit by a car or anything like that. Suddenly he heard the cries of a child in pain and this brought him back to himself, he saw ahead of him Harry and his crew were surrounding a kid he couldn't quite see. Harry was 13 years old and had black hair and blue eyes, he was quite tall for his age and had a little bit of muscle as if he worked out.
