“Law Enforcers! Open the door or we’ll do it for you! We know you’re in there, young Winters!” A familiar voice booms from the front door, and I frantically pick up my bookbag and dump my books from it and unto the bed.

If they’re going to arrest me, they’ll have to catch me first.

I put my shirt, boxers, and pants back on in a matter of seconds. I then rip open my drawers and take out a few pairs of boxers, three pairs of pants, and a few more t-shirts. I stuff them into my bookbag, then I put in the necessities: my razor, cologne, deodorant, and other stuff I don’t feel like mentioning.

Closing my now packed bookbag, I put my phone charger in one of the small pockets of my bag, and put my phone in my pocket. I take my house keys just in case I need to come back here.

I just hope that I didn’t pack all this for nothing. I’m actually hoping that they are here to arrest me.

I go quietly downstairs, hiding my bag next to the coat rack by the front door. Cautiously, I open the front door, and I look up into the eyes of the man who took my parents from me.

“Good evening, young Winters,” Agent Harrison says, his intense brown eyes boring down at me with no immediate emotion. “We have a personal request to ask of you. May we have a few minutes of your time?”

I tilt my head in confusion, then I quickly correct myself and lower my head. “Of course.” I open the door slightly, but Harrison does not enter. Instead, he steps aside and a young man with blonde hair and gray-blue eyes comes forward. The man slips out his I.D, saying, “My name is Bryan Sparrow.”

Bryan Sparrow? As in, Trystan’s uncle?

Putting his card and pulling out a civilian I.D at the same time, he says, “Do you know her? If you had, then have you seen her?”

I look closely at the card, and I am stunned to see the angelic, though unsmiling face of Trystan on it, with her information and date of birth on it. I take a long look at it to see when her birthday is; June 3, 1998.

I’ll need to remember that day. It’s actually about a month from now.

Quickly, I tilt my head in apology and say softly, “No, I am sorry, sir.”

Bryan continues to look down at me, his light brown eyes boring into my own, making me feel uncomfortable. Finally, he nods once, putting Trystan’s I.D. away in his pocket. “Sorry to bother you with this. Miss Trystan was missing from school today. As you can see, we are very punctual when we said to be at school every single day. It is illegal to miss a day of school, though it is legitimate on holidays and days that you’re sick.”

I nod, stating that I understand. “Alright. It is okay, sir. My pleasure.” I slowly give my hand for him to shake.

He takes it and shakes slowly before letting go. He leans his head down slightly and steps back, letting Harrison come forward again. Harrison shakes my hand and nods once. “Thank you for your time,” he says, “If you see this young lady, please contact us through any police or security department. We are all looking for her. She is important to our society.”

Important to your society? I think you’re actually saying that she is resourceful to your tyranny.

“If I may,” I tell him, careful to keep my voice uncomfortably small and quiet. “Can I ask why is it that you are fixing your attention on one Treated girl?” This may be another valuable piece of information.

Harrison keeps his dark gaze on me for a second longer before saying, “We have rumors that Miss Trystan has escaped San Francisco, fleeing to Concord. It seems like a long way, but a close friend of Trystan tells us that she had been planning this the past two months.”
