After training with Natasha, you went to shower to get ready for dinner. You didn't know why you were so nervous to meet Pepper, but you couldn't help it. Her and Tony were practically married so if she didn't like you, you'd be gone in a second. You also wanted to make a good impression because she's important to Tony.

You smoothed out the black skater skirt you wore and the gray rolling stone tee shirt. You put on some sneakers and your hair into two fishtail braids. You didn't have any formal clothes, so you did your best. You told Tony that you didn't have anything fancy to wear and he said not to worry about it, the dinner was more casual.

You made your way down the long hallway to the dining room, wracked with nerves.

"Y/n! Just in time." Tony greeted you. He wore jeans, sneakers and a long-sleeved shirt, which instantly made you feel more comfortable.

"Hey, Tony! Oh! And you must be Pepper." You smiled when a beautiful woman made her way from behind a corner. She wore a violet dress, both professional and formal.

"Yes, it's so nice to meet you, Y/n, Tony talks nonstop about you." She smiled warmly, easing your nerves.

"Does he now? Stark, getting attached, are we?" You teased him.

"Very funny, very funny." He rolled his eyes, smiling, "Shall we?" He gestured to the table and all three of you made your way. It was a long table, so he sat at one end and you sat across from Pepper near him, "We actually have one more guest joining us. He should be here any-"

"Sorry, I'm late!" Peter cheered, coming into the room and sitting next to you without being asked, "Hey, everyone." He smiled and then his eyes lingered on you.

"I didn't know you were coming, Peter! Why didn't you tell me?" You smiled at him.

"Hope it's a good surprise." He smiled back.

"The best." You nodded and his face lit up.

"Alright, enough flirting." Tony scoffed and you rolled your eyes.

"So, Y/n, Tony tells me you're at the top of your class?" Pepper asked when the food was served.

"I do okay." You shrugged, "But you're the CEO of Stark Industries? Now that's impressive."

"I do okay." She winked at you and you smirked.

"Our ladies are being modest, Pete." Tony laughed.

"I don't think they're dating, Tony." Pepper answered for you.

"Yet." Tony mumbled into his drink.

"Well, this is awkward." You said and peered at Peter who had his cheeks dusted with pink and his lips pursed.

"Just a bit." He laughed.

The rest of dinner was spent eating, laughing, and talking. You got to know Pepper pretty well and she got to know you. By the end of it, everyone was pretty tired, and Tony told Peter that Happy would bring him home.

"Can I walk you to the car?" You asked Peter.

"Y-yeah, that'd be cool." He smiled to you, getting up, "Night Mr. Stark and Miss Potts."

"Goodnight Peter." Pepper smiled to him and turned to Tony.

"Night, kid." He waved and the two of you left.

For a while it was just awkward silence as you walked to the elevator until you felt like you should break it.

"I'm glad you came."

"Yeah, me too." He nodded and you both stepped on the elevator, "So, you like really live here now."

"Yeah, I guess, is that weird?"
