"You play?" Amber asked, snapping me out of the weird trance.

"Uhh, yeah," I admitted and started to play with my hair to hold myself from touching the piano. "Have been from the age of six. But I've never played one that beautiful."

Amber giggled and hopped up to sit on the lid, to which I gasped. Clearly, she didn't play. Otherwise, she wouldn't have mistreated the gorgeous instrument like that.

"So, play to me?" she asked, batting her damn long eyelashes, knowing well she would get everything she ever wanted with that one little gesture alone. To be honest, though, it wasn't like I didn't want to play for a bit.

Sighing and ignoring the urge to scold her, I opened the cover and ran my fingertips on top of the smoother than smooth keys. "What do you want to hear?"

"Anything," she chirped sweetly.

Hesitantly, I sat down on the stool and adjusted it. Figuring she wouldn't appreciate the classical masterpieces; I decided to play some parts of my own arrangements on pop songs. Making it a medley, I even dared to try one of my Britney ones. It was just as huge of a secret than my lesbian side, but I stanned her so hard behind closed doors.

The sound of the instrument was so beautiful though, it almost felt like a blasphemy to play some ordinary pop songs with it. But my awe over the piano's sound quickly turned into awe over another sound. And that was Amber's equally beautiful voice when she started to sing along as soon as she recognized Britney's piece. It was almost like the piano had been made to compliment Amber's voice. Which probably wasn't very far from the truth, considering how wealthy the Moore family seemed to be.

Turning my playing from solo-type to accompanying, the piano's sound complimented her voice even more. Not knowing how I pulled through the song with being so out of it due to the piano's sound and Amber's voice combined, making out the an out of this world combination, but I did it. It was over, all too soon.

Amber smiled at me once again when I lifted my fingers off the keys after the very last note.

"Didn't take you as a Britney kind of gal," she said.

"Well... I didn't take you like the singing kind of gal," I noted, a bit breathless. I stood up, went straight to the table and glugged down the remnants of the pink liquid to ease the sudden dryness that irritated my throat.

"There's a lot you don't know about me," she muttered and hopped down from the piano. "Come on, I've been absent my own party for a while now."

It was a weird feeling, yes, but I could see myself getting to know Amber better. No wonder that she was so popular. She was... Nice. Suddenly afraid our time together with Amber was coming to a close just as I was starting to have fun, I asked, "So, what's upstairs?"

"Ohh, that's where the games are being played," she said and winked. "Let's go."

With a final, longing glance towards the piano, I followed her through their kitchen and suddenly we were back at the dance floor. But we didn't stop there. Amber pulled me through the crowd once again and to the staircase on the right.

Directly where the stairs united on the top, there was another set of double doors. There was a paper that said off-limits though. Amber yelled over the music that it was their parent's bedroom and there was nothing to see there. I nodded so she dragged me to the hallway on the left.

We went through another door to a huge room. There was a table in the middle of it and people playing beer pong. Amber chatted a bit with a jock looking guy which I assumed was her quarterback twin brother I had heard about so many times already during the one week I had been around. They had some similar facial features.

"So, who's your new friend?" the jock asked Amber and turned his burning gaze towards me. He looked at me seductively under his eyelashes, and even winked. Though it was clear he was the school's heartthrob, I felt absolutely nothing.

"Adam, this is Mei. Mei, Adam," she said and waved her hand back and forth between us.

Not knowing what else to do, I offered my hand for a handshake. But the guy took my hand the wrong way and lifted it to his lips. I was slightly grossed out but tried to keep my face in check.

"Nice to meet you, Mei," the jock said with a too sweet voice and smirked.

Yanking my hand back, I muttered, "Yeah, nice to meet you too."

Now, this is why mom won't see any boyfriends around our house anytime soon.

Of course, I knew I wasn't an eyesore whenever I bothered to put on some make-up, wore contacts and styled my hair down. It wasn't the first time guys had hit on me. I just wished I could've straight out told them that they didn't have the slightest chance.

Luckily, Amber saved me from her own brother. She dragged me out of the room and straight to the other end of the corridor.

"This is my room," Amber said, smiling, and pulled the door open.

As soon as the noise dulled down when the door closed behind us and I glanced around, I froze to the spot. In that room, there were people sitting on the floor in a circle. With a bottle dead center to the ring. Some people shifted over to make some room for us and Amber plopped down. I hesitated. It was the last thing I wanted to do. Nothing good ever comes from spin the bottle.

When Amber noticed I hadn't sat down with her, she turned to look at me. "Oh relax, it's just a game and it's only the 'truth or dare' -version."

Figuring I could always pick truth and just lie something believable enough, I reluctantly plopped down to sit next to Amber. She grinned at me before turning her attention to the now spinning bottle.

Of course, when it stopped spinning, it pointed straight at me. Rolling my eyes slightly, I spoke before anyone could ask me the lame questions. "Truth."

A dark-haired guy who was sitting right across me started speaking. "Alright then. Who was your first celebrity crush?"

Ahh, this was easy. "Brad Pitt," I said like I had said at least a million times before. Though, in reality, the answer should've probably been more like Britney Spears.

The guy nodded and I spun the bottle. It wasn't that bad at all, and at some point, I started having fun again. Most of the questions and dares were easy. Only occasionally, some had to kiss, but those weren't anything more than pecks.

Then the bottle stopped, pointing straight towards Amber.

The spinner – another blonde cheerleader from Amber's gang – smiled like a villain from the weird rom-com I still felt like I had been trapped in, when Amber picked a dare.

"I dare you to do seven minutes in heaven with..." she started and glanced around the circle, her eyes lingering on me for quite some time, making me nervous. I gulped. No way they would guess I was a lesbian... Well, that's what I tried to tell myself while trying to will my heartbeat to slow down. But to my ultimate relief, she eventually said Brian. A brunet jock looking guy to my left started grinning.

Amber, however, groaned. "Jess you can't do this to me. You know I bat for the other team," she said, and the brunet jock's face fell.

I couldn't help but snap my eyes directly to Amber's face with a million voices screaming in my head at the same time. Wondering if this was just another one of those dreams of mine, I tried to clear up my head by shaking it ever so slightly.

When she noticed I was staring, she blushed and glued her gaze to the floor.

"What a waste," the jock said to end the uncomfortable silence that had took over the room and ripped me out of my daydreams at the same time.

However, someone else had noticed I stared Amber. The damn blonde – Jess I suppose. "Well, then... I'll give you a choice. It's either Brian or Mei. Now choose."
