"Tae?" Jungkook whispered, as he watched with complete horror as the boy in front of him simply stared down at the arrow dug firmly into his stomach.

With a pained gasp, Taehyung slumped backwards, although Jungkook quickly placed his hands behind his back, gently lowering him onto the grass.

"Taehyung?" the Prince said shakily, his hands trembling uncontrollably as he kneeled down on the grass to the left of the wounded boy, his eyes planted upon the pierced skin.

The blue-haired boy's eyes filled with tears of pain, as he took in a short breath, his face contorting with utter pain. "Kook.." he managed to force out, holding up a shaking finger in the direction of where the arrow was shot from.

Breaking out of his dazed trance, Jungkook's head snapped upwards, to which his eyes met with Jennie, who stood a few feet away from them, her lips formed into a triumphant grin. She remained where she was, the bow back in its sheath, proving she had absolutely no intentions of harming the Prince.

"You thought," she began, shaking her head in mock pity at the pair. "You thought for a second I would willingly save the man who ruined my marriage?"

Jungkook felt sick. He felt enraged beyond measure, however he couldn't muster enough energy to attack her, since the sight of Taehyung below him was far too painful to even witness. Instead, he tore his eyes away from Jennie and back to the boy, who had now begun struggling to simply breathe.

"Don't be foolish, Jungkook. Stop sacrificing your entire life for someone below us. Don't forget who you are."

Jungkook's eyes flew up to meet hers, his words struggling to escape his throat, not quite believing what was coming out her mouth. How could one be so heartless?

"Jeon warned you. He said you'd lose everything if you continued rebelling."

And with that, she rode back into the direction she came from, leaving Jungkook and a wounded Taehyung.

"Jungkook," the servant murmured, raising a shaking hand to the boy's hair, which he used his fingers to comb through slowly. "Look at me."

Jungkook let out a broken cry, his entire body collapsing within itself. The raven-haired man couldn't accept what was occurring in that very second. He couldn't look at the pale-faced boy, who was suffering because of him.

"Tae," he mumbled, unable to prevent hot tears cascading down his face. Jungkook grabbed Taehyung's hand with his, giving it a gentle squeeze. "I'm gonna save you. We need to-" he rambled, before getting cut off with the voice of Taehyung.

"It's too late, baby."

The worst part was the fact the boy's words were laced with acceptance. It was evident Taehyung wasn't even trying to hold onto an ounce of hope. In fact, the small smile playing on the ends of his lips as he looked on at Jungkook made the Prince's insides virtually flip with sheer mourn.

"No," he said softly, shaking his head with stubbornness. He simply couldn't accept what Taehyung was trying to insinuate. He couldn't lose him. "Stop. Stop giving up," he spoke out almost angrily, tightening the hold he had upon his hand. "Why are you leaving me.."

"Jungkook," Taehyung tried once again, attempting to even his voice despite the insurmountable amounts of pain he was enduring.

He had to do it for Jungkook's sake.

"Let me go," he croaked out, now fighting to keep his eyes open. "And remember, you made my life worth living, Kook. You've made me the happiest I've ever been.. and I wouldn't change any bit of it if I had the choice."

Jungkook virtually witnessed the life escaping Taehyung's body, as he looked on at the way his eyes were slowly losing the light dancing behind his brown orbs, as well as the flush in his sallow cheeks.

"I can't lose you," he stuttered out helplessly, his voice trembling with sheer heartbreak. "You don't understand.. I need you."

"I love you," Taehyung said simply, now taking one last look at the sobbing Prince above him who cupped the blue-haired boy's cheeks with his, beginning to realise there was no point of trying to hold onto him.

Taehyung was dying.

"Baby," the younger breathed out, brushing his thumb gently across the under-eye of the bleeding boy. "I love you. I love you so much, beautiful boy. So much," he continued repeating whilst watching as the life leaked out of Taehyung.

"Kook.." the elder whispered, his two eyes fixated upon the male above him. "Promise me you won't be sad. Promise me, Jungkook."

Although the Prince knew it was a downright lie he was imminent from speaking out, he knew he had to say it. He had to let Taehyung go peacefully.

"I promise, my love," he uttered, wiping the tears away which were clouding the vision he had of the wounded boy. "Now sleep, sweetheart. I'll see you soon, my Prince."

With those words playing in circles around his head, Taehyung took one last look at his lover, before he allowed his eyes to succumb to the lethargic feeling taking over his body. Parting his lips to release one last breath, the boy finally closed his eyelids willingly, as his life gently slipped away.

Jungkook emitted a raucous cry the second he knew Taehyung had gone, burying his face into the crook of his neck. Desperately inhaling deep breaths of the boy's vanilla scent, he clutched onto the fabric of his shirt, simply crying out in despair.

Jungkook felt grief beyond description. He no longer had a reason to breathe. He had no reason to do anything.

Yet, the words of Taehyung replayed in his mind, which simply prevented him from wishing to leave the world as quickly as his lover had disappeared.

Jungkook clung onto the hope that one day, although it wasn't now, yet one day, he would most definitely see Kim Taehyung again.

One day he'd be able to kiss the boy's lips once again.

He'd be able to whisper sweet nothings into his ear, without the fear of having to express his undying love for him in secret.

Jungkook would be able to do whatever he pleased with Taehyung, in a world of both love and joy.

He only needed to be patient, since that time would come.
