When the bell chimes on the third day the first boy looks over right away to see the other. The second boy smiles at him and waves, his dimples peaking out on his cheek. The first boy waves back and then turns to his tea, just holding the warm mug between his hands.

When the chair scrapes against the floor he turns back to see the other boy with two muffins on a plate. They look delicious and the first boy really wants to go up and buy himself one.

"Just tea again? Doesn't that get boring?" The boy asks as he picks up a muffin. He slowly takes off the wrapper and then takes a large bite.

"I like my tea. It's what I always get," the first boy explains and the second boy rolls his eyes and slides the other muffin over to him.

"Okay, but you want the muffin," he says and the first boy looks at it and then back at him.

"What kind is it?" He inquires and the second boy takes another bite, chews and then swallows.

"Banana chip. It's good."

"What if I don't like bananas?" The first boy says, placing his elbows on the table. The second boy gives him a shocked look and places his muffin down gently.

"How can you not like bananas? Especially in muffin form," he says passionately and the first boy laughs and picks up the muffin.

"I do like bananas. I was just asking what if I didn't," he grins, nibbling at the top of the soft pastry. The second boy just smirks and picks up his muffin again.

"So, do anything exciting today?" The first boy asks and the second boy purses his lips.

"Went to school. Ate some sushi. That's it," he says and the first boy nods, placing his muffin down so he can drink more tea.

"What about you? Tell me a story," the second boy suggests and the first boy hums as he thinks.

"My day was full of bad luck. I got up and realized I had no milk for my cereal. Then I got to school and spilled coffee on my pants. My friend cancelled our plans for this weekend and now I'm stuck talking to you," he says the last part with a teasing grin. The second boy sticks out his tongue like a child.

"Sounds bad. At least you got a free muffin," he supplies and the first boy nods.

"You saved my bad day. How was sushi?" He asks and the second boy grins happily.

"Wonderful. Me and my sister go there every month and it's my favourite. I look forward to it and count down the days," he cheers and the other boy smiles at him, feeling genuinely happy for the boy across from him.

"Sushi has that affect on people," he murmurs and the guy continues to smile.

"True. Makes even the saddest men smile. Maybe next time I'll bring you some," he jokes and the first boy just shakes his head.

"I'll have you know I'm a very happy person," he tells him and the second boy smiles wider.

"Me too. Maybe that's why we get along," he says and the first boy nods.

"Maybe you're right."
