"Where are we going?" I asked him for the hundredth time.

"You ask too many questions," he shook his head.

"No, its the same question that you refuse to answer."

"I'm getting rid of the paps, okay? Just follow me."

He had me sprint down the city sidewalk with him, turning at awkward places into sketchy alleyways and roads I'd never been down before. I was fairly certain he had no idea where he was headed.

To my surprise, he led me back to my own house. As if the paps wouldn't think to look here.

"What are we doing here?" I asked. He ignored me and stood on the dumpster below my window. He grabbed onto the fire escape and pulled himself up onto the ladder.

I sighed and followed him as he climbed to the very top. He then pulled himself onto the flat roof and offered his hand to help me up. I took it, and there we sat side by side.

"This is one hell of a date, Harry Styles," I said.

"Every girl's dream," he agreed.

"So...what? Is this supposed to be fun?"

He just gave me a smirk and pulled out my iPod from his purse. He turned it up to its highest volume and placed it on the ground between us. He stood up and gestured for me to do the same.

"What are you doing?" I asked again as he selected Alive from my extensive list of songs.

"Dance with me," he said, doing some kind of weird shit with his arms. I laughed.

"You're crazy."

"Dance with me," he repeated, grabbing my hands and pulling me. I rolled my eyes.

"I can't dance in this body."

"That's an amazing body perfectly capable of dancing, don't give me excuses Cara," he boasted. "Hey, it's alright, if it makes you feel alive," he sang when I stood motionless. I sighed, giving in.

"Hey, its alright, does it make you feel alive? Don't look back, live your life, even if it's only for tonight," we sang together, dancing worse than teenagers at a high school dance. "We gotta live before we get older. Do what we like, we got nothing to lose. Shake off the weigh of the world from your shoulders, ohhh we got nothing to prove..."

After 3 songs I got tired, and he did too. I sat down again, still laughing. He did the same but left the music playing quietly.

"Do you ever come up here?" Harry asked me, gazing up at the stars.

"No. I should, but I don't."

"How come?"

"I don't know. Life gets crazy. School, family stuff, friends...I never seem to have the time."

"Look," he said. "You can see it all from up here. Stars, city, trees... and it's almost quiet. Not really because you can still hear the cars and all that. But almost."

"Have you ever come up here?" I asked him.

"Marcus's roof is where he made a move on me," he laughed.

"Oh God," I laughed with him.

"But hey, he's a romantic guy if you think about it. Look how nice it is on the roof."

"Mmhmm is that why you took me here?" I teased, lightly bumping his shoulder with my own. "Gonna try to get weird with me?"

"Darn. You've ruined my plan," he joked.

You & I started softly playing from my iPod, and it caught both of our attention.

"Yes," he said, turning it up. He stood again and offered me his hand. "Dance with me."

"What? No."

"Dance. With. Me."

"No, this song is slow and-"

"Gonna end in a few minutes and you're my date so shut up and dance with me."

I laughed and stood up, placing my hands on his waist with his resting on my shoulders.

"A little weird, huh?" I laughed. "Slow dancing as the opposite gender."

"A little," he shrugged. "But you're dancing with Harry Styles. I know you love it."

"Still a cocky son of a bitch I see."

"You love it."

"Don't push your luck."

He just smirked and kept dancing.

"So why exactly did you want to slow dance with me then?" I smirked back.

"Don't flatter yourself. It's for the paps."

"You know there aren't any paps around-"

"Shhh it's for the paps."

I smiled and rolled my eyes.

"You lie. You wanted to dance with me like this."

"Did I?"

"Yes, you did. And I would even go as far as saying that you like me."

"Well someone's confident this evening," he smirked.

"Admit it."

"No."

"Then deny it," I challenged. I thought I saw him blush a little.

"No."

And then my own face turned pink.

"So, what then? What are you doing?"

"I don't know."

"Then figure it out."

"You don't hate me anymore, do you?"

"It depends on the day."

"Seriously."

"No, I don't. But I'm still mad that you lied."

"Understandable, but you don't hate me?"

"I don't hate you."

He smiled.

"Good."

The song was almost over. This amazing moment was almost over. This actual heart to heart conversation with Harry was almost over. But I didn't want it to be. I didn't want any of it to end.

Just as the last few words of the song were sung, a voice from the streets shouted up at us.

"Cara!" Marcus called, his voice sad and broken.
