Y/N's POV
I was busy cleaning the whole house while Hyunjin's not here. I'm almost done except for his room. I haven't clean it yet but I'm planning to. I walked up the stairs and my eyes are fixed on his room's door.
I gulped before turning the knob and the door slightly opened. Good thing it isn't locked. I entered the room and it smells just like him. The walls are white and the bedsheets are white too. He has a big closet and a door that leads to the bathroom.
I was about to clean the room when I noticed a picture right on his table beside the bed. I slowly walked towards it and saw a picture of him hugging a girl. She's pretty and has pale skin and pink lips. He seems so happy in this picture too. He's very different now and I can't tell why he changed a lot.
Is it her sister? A friend? A girlfriend?
I paused for a bit as I realized what I was thinking about. There's a bit of jealousy I'm feeling. I'm jealous because I can't see Hyunjin's smile. I'm jealous because I didn't see or hear him laugh for atleast once. I let go of the picture and turn around.
Please, tell me he isn't here.
There's Hyunjin standing in front of me and looking at me while clenching his jaw. He seems angry and I don't want to see this side of him. His eyes were fixed on me that makes me can't move.
I sighed and slowly hang low my head.
"I w-was about to c-clean your room a-and I saw the p-picture. It was an accident, I d-didn't mean it-" I said but he started speaking.
"Y/N," he sighed and I looked at him. He was angry just a few minutes ago but now he's not.
He walked pass me and sat on his bed. He then took the picture and stared at it in a few seconds.
"She's Soyeon. Choi Soyeon." he mumbled under his breath. Soyeon? What a beautiful name.
"She's pretty." I answered as I stared at the photo. I sat beside him but not too close.
"Mind telling me the story?" I asked softly and he nodded.
"She was my girlfriend." he started and look down.
"Was?"
"Yes, years ago I met her at a mini stop on a rainy night. She was standing right at the side of the road and she told me she forgot her umbrella." he let out a small pained chuckle. It was as if he is reminiscing the memories he had with her.
He sighed deeply.
"That night I was in love at first sight. There's something inside me that wants to be close with her. I can't rush things that time so I decided to take things slowly. We became friends and after six months, I confessed her my feelings. She also feels the same way so starting that day we were dating." he said.
"Then? What happened? Where is she now?" I asked. I sometimes hate myself for being so curious. I hope he won't mind answering my questions.
"She's gone. It was our 2nd anniversary so she went to my house but while driving her car, she had that accident." his fists clenched and his head hang low. Tears escaped from his eyes. I could feel the pain just by looking at Hyunjin.
"But, I know it wasn't just an 'accident' at all." he muttered, but this time there was a hint of anger and madness in his tone.
"What do you mean?" I asked and knitted my eyebrows in confusion.
"Because- nevermind." he mumbled.
We stayed silent for a few seconds. All I can hear is my loud and rapid beating of my heart and his heavy sighs. I gather all my courage to speak to avoid the awkward silence that's about to happen.
"You know, Hwang Hyunjin, right? Don't worry, I'm sure she's always right here by your side." I pointed at his chest. "And I am sure you can find a girl that you'll love the most," I smiled at him.
He looked at me and smiled. His smile that I've been longing to see. "I already found her." he said.
I blinked abruptly and gulped, "Really? Who is she?"
"You."
