Taehyung and Jungkook made their way through the palace, although they made sure they remained relatively quiet in attempt to refrain from waking up the people around. The Prince led the pair through the hallways, until he finally reached the back entrance of the gardens, where the picturesque view of the sunrise began rising up from the rear of the tall trees littered around the edge of the courtyard.
"Here we are," Jungkook said gently, letting out a short breath as he did so. His body visibly relaxed as his eyes lingered towards the orange-hued sun in the middle of the coral sky. "It's beautiful, isn't it?"
"I never realised the sunrise could be so pretty," Taehyung mumbled in response as the two made their way down the stairs leading to the gardens from the palace. "Do you come here often?"
Jungkook shrugged, breaking his gaze from the ethereal view in front of him to focus on the shorter boy walking next to him whilst the two strolled over to the centre of the yard, where Jungkook planned to relax for a few hours with Taehyung, due to the coverage the assortment of hedges littered across the ground would give them.
"I used to when I was younger," the younger revealed, slipping his hands in his pockets in attempt to mask the tips of his fingers away from the cold, bitter morning air.
Taehyung remained quiet for a few seconds as the two walked over towards where Jungkook was leading them. His heart fluttered in his chest nervously, as he didn't quite know what to say to the Prince. Part of him wanted to ask about the kiss they'd exchanged earlier, however there was a seed of doubt planted in the pit of his stomach. He doubted whether it had meant anything to Jungkook.
"You seem quiet," Jungkook noted, raising his brows at the blue-haired boy once they'd managed to reach the central area of the garden. "Is everything okay?"
Following Jungkook's actions as the Prince sat down by the base of the willow tree planted by the neatly-cut hedges, Taehyung mimicked his actions until both boys leaned their bodies against the thick bark of the tree. It was only then when Taehyung finally opened his mouth to answer the Prince's question.
"Everything's fine," the servant reassured, mustering up a smile towards Jungkook. "I'm just surprised you took me here, that's all. I didn't expect it."
"You mean you didn't expect for the heartless Prince of South Korea to be as considerate as he really is?" Jungkook asked, adopting a teasing tone. He settled back against the bark of the tree, looking at the alluring scene ahead of him. "You get the best view from here. Yoongi showed me this place when we were kids."
"I never said you were heartless," Taehyung mumbled, a trace of a slight frown littered across his forehead. "Are you and Yoongi close?"
"We used to be. I mean, we still are. We've just distanced a bit I guess," Jungkook said, before shooting Taehyung a curious look. "Why?"
"No reason," he shrugged. "I have a close friend back home. He's called Bogum."
Jungkook nodded, not quite knowing what to say back. He'd never been talented at carrying on conversations, and the fact that he liked Taehyung made everything worse. Each word coming out his mouth was intended to somewhat impress the boy, although Jungkook had simply no clue how to charm someone. It had never been his priority to do so in the past.
"Jungkook? I'm really sorry about what happened two days ago. I didn't mean to tell Jimin at all. It just sort of-" he said, before he was interrupted by the Prince, who placed his index finger against Taehyung's cherry lips.
