I got home around 5pm and my head was reeling. I couldn't believe the day I had. I turned on my TV and clicked over to Youtube. I put on my playlist and of course the first thing to play was Josh's band. His face appeared on the screen and I melted. I stared at my phone and wondered if he would actually contact me again. "Doubtful." I whispered. I laid down on the couch and got lost in the music, staring intently at the beautiful face plastered on the tv screen. I slowly drifted into the most vivid dream.
I stood in a dark room with a small candle being the only source of light. I heard Josh's voice behind me and I spun around. He was standing about 2 feet from me, bare chest. His eyes lit up as a smirk spread across his perfect lips. He stepped closer til we were merely centimeters apart. I could feel his breath on my face. It smelled sweet like vanilla. A shiver ran up my spine and butterflies danced in my stomach. He reached his hand towards my face and softly caressed my cheek as he slowly inched his face towards mine. I felt his lips brush against mine as the sound of a phone ringing startled me awake.
When I opened my eyes I could feel my heart beating rapidly. I grabbed my phone and tried to adjust my sleepy eyes to the screen. I didn't recognize the number and thought about ignoring it but eventually decided to answer. "Hello?" I said, my voice dry and cracking. "Ana?" I recognized Josh's voice immediately. I sat straight up and cleared my throat. "Josh! Hi! Sorry, I just woke up from a nap!" "It's okay, sorry if I was the one who woke you. I uh...I just wanted to tell you again how nice it was to meet you. You're a really down to earth girl and I really enjoyed chatting with you. Listen, I only have a minute. The guys and I are about to head out, but I was wondering...can I take you out maybe tomorrow night? I'm flying out the day after tomorrow and I don't want to miss my chance to see you again before I go."
I nearly choked on my spit as I sat there bewildered and unable to speak. "Ana?" The sound of him speaking my name snapped me from my stupor. "Ye....yeah. Uhm, I would love to!" I choked out. "Great! I'll text you tomorrow and let you know what time, yeah? The guys and I are heading out to check out some bars now, so I've gotta go, but I'll talk to you tomorrow! Bye!" "Bye, Josh." I responded as I brought the phone from my ear and hung up. I squealed, kicking my legs, smacking my shin on the coffee table. I reached for my leg, groaning in pain but still grinning from ear to ear.
