Lying in bed staring at the ceiling while my hearing aids charged, I couldn't stop thinking about it. Why would Brendon have Sarah's pendant? If he found it, why wouldn't he give it to her parents? Could he have - ? No, there's no way. Brendon's not a murderer. At least, he doesn't seem like one. He can't be. He's so happy all the time.

My eyes catch my laptop on the desk. I bring it over and sit up in my bed, opening the web browser.

Sarah Orzechowski.

There's nothing beyond what was written about her in the newspaper article.

Sarah Orzechowski pendant.

Nothing. Just a bunch of blue links saying it wasn't found. Well, I guess it's something. Why is Brendon lying about having it? Maybe it washed ashore and he picked it up. Still, why wouldn't he turn it in?

Brendon Urie.

Brendon Boyd Urie is a Harvard alumni with a Masters degree in Journalism. He was the top of his class and achieved honors every year.

Well shit, he wasn't lying about his education.

Both parents died in a house fire when he was just 18, a month post his high school graduation.

Poor guy. He hides it well, though.

A blue link, in particular, catches my eye, labeled: ACCUSED OF MURDER

My mouse swoops to the link, clicking on it.

On January 23rd, 2013, twenty-five-year-old Gerard Arthur Way accused 27-year-old Brendon Boyd Urie of murdering his family, who was found dead in the Way household. No evidence led to Urie and the case was closed. Way, refusing to believe this is currently being held in the national psychiatric hospital in New York.

My brows furrow and my lips part. Brendon wouldn't kill anyone, would he? What would be his motive?

No, there's no way.

I close the tab and laptop before I traumatize myself. This stuff is sickening as is. But, Brendon couldn't have been involved. That accusation of Gerard wasn't proven. That's why he's in a hospital. It could've been someone that resembled Brendon really well.

Right?
