I laid her on the bed, kissing her neck and touching her skin. My mind raced and I thought about too many things at the same time. My mind went to the block of coke that fell out her closet. That was so much cocaine. Is she a drug dealer? Was that hers? Is she ok? She had assured me everything was fine, and I promised I wouldn't think about it too much, but I couldn't help it. A soft, angelic sound snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Mmm" she moaned moving her head to the side, breathing out and giving me more space on her neck. God, even if she was a drug dealer, in that moment, I didn't care.
I kissed her down her chest and placed my hand on her breast. I looked up for a second, hoping I hadn't been to eager. Her eyes were still closed and her head was thrown back. I smiled to myself. I tugged on the hem of her shirt, and she giggled. She pulled it over her head swiftly and threw it on the ground. I looked at her in her bra for a second before getting pulled back into the kiss.
The front door was opened and pulled away from each other suddenly. We heard two voices laughing and a pair of keys placed on the table clicked against the glass.
"I think it's my brother."she said grabbing her shirt off the ground and frantically putting it on.
"What do I do?" I asked her waiting for a response. She thought hard for a second.
"Just sit on the bed and act normally" she responded swiftly. She straightened out her hair in the front and opened the door wide before sitting on the bed near me.
Her brother came to the door and looked us both up and down. Next to him was a girl I assume was his girlfriend. She was tall and skinny and had dark skin. She smiled at Valentina and then waved at me.
"Valentina, Imani and I are going to get-" he paused and looked at me up and down. He had the scariest face in the world and the tattoo on his neck made me wince. I stood up.
"Hi, I'm Andrei, Valentina's bo- I mean, well-" I held my hand out for him to shake it. But I stuttered and looked over at her, seeking validation I guess. She interrupted very quickly
"Friend, this is my friend Andrei." He nodded at me and the look on his face can only be described as pity. He let out a curt chuckle.
"Well if you and your friend want to get froyo with us we're leaving in 15 minutes. Nice to meet you Anthony" he looked over at Valentina and shook his head, chuckling. He walked out the room and Valentina gave him a death glare.
I looked at her once we were alone, I wondered what she was thinking. Not only was I embarrassed, I felt kinda disappointed.
"So I didn't mean it like that- I just meant that we're good friends and I don't wanna mess that up. You know?" I guess she saw the look on my face and felt the need to say something.
"Yeah, no worries, I just- yeah" I looked at her trying to assure her that we were on the same page.
We chilled for a little while and we ordered some Chinese food. It got later in the day but I wasn't ready to leave her yet.
"So do you want to watch a movie or something?" She said turning on the tv and flipping through the channels.
"Look! They're giving coco! Have you seen it?" She gasped really excited. She wasn't super expressive and I felt like it was hard to read her sometimes. So I was happy she was excited.
"What's coco?" I said cluelessly.
"It's a movie about a young boy who's chasing his dreams, it's only the bestest movie in the world! and- Oh no, we have to watch ASAP."
We laid back in the bed and snuggled close together. She wrapped the blanket around us and it smelled just like her.
The movie was cute I guess. I was kinda sleepy, but my eyes shot open as I heard her burst into song and jump out of my arms.
"What color's the sky? ¡Ay mi amor, ay mi amor! You tell me that it's red¡ Ay mi amor, ay mi amor! Where should I put my shoes?
¡Ay mi amor, ay mi amor! You say, "put them on your head! ¡Ay mi amor, ay mi amor!"
She yells at the top of her lungs. She swung her arms around and moved her feet to the song. She smiled brightly and spun around still singing. She looked so beautiful and her hair moved all over the place as she danced, but she didn't care.
"Un poco loco! Un poquititito loco!" She continued and I couldn't take my eyes off her.
"Cmon gringo! A bailar!"
(Let's dance White boy)
I was reluctant, but she pulled my arm with all the force in her and she dragged me all around her room to the beat. We danced until the song was over and we both collapsed on the bed, laughing way too hard. She laid her head in my stomach and let out a sigh.
"I told you this was the best movie ever." I laughed and nodded my head as I pulled her close to me. I held her tight as we continued watching the movie. When it was almost over, I heard some quiet sniffles. She was trying to be lowkey, but I saw her wipe a tear away as the credits rolled.
"Valentina, are you crying?" I said loudly
"What! No!" She leaped up and slapped me on the arm playfully.
"Yes you were! You were totally crying" I laughed, trying to pull her back into my lap. She pulled away and turned around.
"Awwww, I'm sorry babe" she turned around slowly, but her hair covered her eyes.
" you should be!" She jumped on my laughing and fake punching me all over. Neither of us could hold our laughter in and we rolled around in the bed playing around.
When she was finally tired out, I flipped us over and pinned her arms on her sides. I leaned down for a kiss and she turned her head which ended up with me kissing on her cheek and her neck. I laid next to her and wrapped my arms around her. I moved my head close to her ear and we snuggled close together.
God, even when she cried she looked beautiful.
