I pulled into the parking lot of the precinct, walking into the entrance full of rage.
"I need to see Zion, right now." I said sternly.
"But ma'am-" The receptionist began, only to be cut off by Officer Peck.
"Come in, Danielle." He said.
"Thank you." I said, entering the elevator to go to the basement.

I furiously walked to his cell, using the key that my dad had given to me when I first started counseling Zion.
"A fucking death sentence, Zion? A death sentence?! When the hell did you plan on telling me, huh? I've been spending all of my time on you, waiting for you to be released, but I didn't know you were waiting for your fucking death sentence to be up!" I rambled, placing my hands on top of my head.
"When I told you to go, you didn't."

"Everything sucks right now! My dad needs a heart transplant, you're waiting for your death sentence to pass, I might move to Michigan-" I stopped. I slid against the hard concrete wall, sobbing. I didn't want to lose two of the greatest people in my life.

I felt Zion's arms wrap around me. He held me close. I wrapped my arms around his torso as I continued to sob into his chest.
"You're gonna be okay, Danielle. I promise."
"You-you won't be h-here any-more." I said between cries.
"I think I should finally tell you the truth, why I'm here in the first place." He said, biting his bottom lip. He carried me to his bed, allowing me to lay in his arms. He began to play with my hair as he began to tell the story. My heart was pounding out of my chest. I was nervous, but I've been waiting for this.

"It was my senior year of high school. My ex girlfriend and a few of our friends were at a party. My dad told me to stay strapped at all times because I was in a stupid gang. My friends, including Edwin, you're cousin, were apart of the gang. A fight broke out at the party and it involved us and another gang. We called amends a few weeks later. My girlfriend at the time was cheating on me with the leader of the other gang, his name was Chris. When I found out, I went absolutely crazy," He paused, taking in a deep breath.

"The boys and I ganged up, and we killed both my ex and Chris. We were caught on our way out. We couldn't run, hide, nothing. So, I'm doing this for the boys. The court said only one will be passed a death sentence, and the others get released the day of the death."

I got chills. All over my body. The mood of the room was less of a gloomy and sad environment, it felt more dark and cryptic.
"I know you might think that I'm a monster. You can leave like everyone else did." He said.

"Zion, I'm not leaving, and, I don't think you're a monster. I think you're a fighter, and so am I. I'll fight for all of you guys." I said, sitting up on his bed.

"Danielle, don't. No one listened to us, especially me. They won't listen to you."
"I don't care, Zion. I will fight until they set you guys free." Although what Zion did was wrong, I still want to see him leave this hell hole. I don't want to see handcuffs on him or this stupid prison uniform. I want him to be happy, and I want to witness it.

"Danielle, we're criminals. They'll never let us go." I looked to my right, seeing Edwin standing against the bars of his cell.
"Edwin." I mumbled getting up and stepping out of Zion's cell. I held onto Edwin's hand, squeezing it as I brought it to my chest.
"I love you, Dani."
"I love you too, Ed." We stood there for a moment when a boy with glasses spoke.

"You don't even know us. Why would you help us?" I looked at him, and bit on my bottom lip, thinking of something to say.
"Well, you guys are friends of Zion. I'm willing to help."

"Whatever," He said, letting out a sigh. "I'm Brandon." He said, holding out his hand. I walked over to his cell, shaking it gently.

"I'm Nick." I looked behind me, seeing another boy holding out his hand. I stepped back, shaking his hand, then another hand popped out of a cell.

"I'm Austin!" I giggled lightly as I walked over to the other boy. I shook his hand before asking, "Alright, are there anymore of you guys?"

"Right here sweetheart." This voice sounded very masculine unlike the others.
"Danielle, don't go there!" Zion said. I continued to walk towards the cell.

"Where are you?" I murmured.
"Right here, princess." I turned around and I was at the end of the hall. This cell wasn't provided with any light, so I pulled out my phone, putting my flashlight on. There was a tall guy with short brown hair sitting on his bed.

As he got up, I saw the tattoos that covered his body from his neck down, there was a piercing on his lip and by his eyebrow. He held his hand out. I slowly shook his hand, but he used his other to pull me up to the cell. My body was pressed against the cold metal bars. I tried to pull away but I wasn't as strong as he was.
"Froy! Let go of her." I heard an officer speak.

"Froy!" I suddenly felt my wrists being freed of his hands. I held onto my wrists, examining the bruises he had left on both of them. I turned around to walk away, but I felt a very sharp pain on the left side of my back. My vision went blurry and my head was spinning.

"Danielle!" Was all I heard. "Danielle, get up! Move!" I tried to get something out but I couldn't, all I did was collapse to the floor.
"Zion?" Being that the only thing I could see was the silhouette of a person, I assumed it was Zion.
