"You're leaving?!" Wendy shouted, tears streaming down her eyes in a matter of moments.
A light wind began to whirl around the empty infirmary, the only sound being the rushing of air and the bottles filled with healing herbs she had been working with rattling.
"C'mon, it's only going to be for a year or two." I said, trying to calm her down but the wind only worsened. "How could you say that!" She shouted.
The air swirled around me creating enough force that had me planting my feet firmly on the ground, but the friction caused pain to come to the poorly wrapped wound on my arm.
I had recently come back from a mission, it was quiet simple for it's pay and would certainly make a difference to the savings account that Wendy and I have to buy a house. I headed to Mt. Hakobae to meet up with some local vegetable farmers, the ones who sent the request, who wanted me to take care of a Blizzardvern who had been stealing all there produce. I was able to easily beat the beast with my Rainbow Fire, but not before he swooped down and cut me from my wrist to my shoulder with his large talons.
After I collected my pay, I was heading back to the guild when Master pulled me to the side. He had asked me to take a S-class mission, my first ever, as a fill in for Natsu who was away taking care of his children and spending time with Lucy. Now, here I was, telling the woman I wanted to marry that I was leaving her behind.
As soon as she noticed my slight distress the wind instantly fell and the bottles stopped rattling. My blue haired fiancée brought me over to a cushioned chair which she used to examine our guild mates' vision and such.
I was very proud of her, from at first being a timid girl who would never talk much, to growing up and being taken under Porlyusica's wing, now becoming one of the best known healing magic weilders in Fiore. Althoough, she still held that same kindness she had from day one.
Wendy lifted my right arm slightly, muttering out a 'sorry' as I winced in pain, before grabbing a pillow on one of the infermery beds and placing it under my arm.
"You're lucky the cut is still fresh or else it would have left a nasty scar, even with my healing magic." She said gently.
I honestly couldn't believe it. She was pushing through her anger and sadness to take care of me.
I brought my other hand up to her face, pushing back some of her thick blue locks that had fallen out from her pony tail, which she had grown out since we were kids, back behind her ear and out of her face, slowly grazing my hand down her jawline. It was funny actually the faces she made whenever she healed me, Wendy wasn't big on scolding people, but she always sorta glared at my injuries as if giving me a rant to be more careful in her head.
Her big brown eyes focused on the deep gash in my arm, ghosting her hand which illuminated a blue-green light over my bleeding cut.
This soothing feeling I have grown to, the light airy feeling of my wound closing, relief and refreshment overcoming the stinging pain in my arm, I would never get tired of it. It never ceased to amaze me, the power of her, as I watched my wound seal up as if it never existed.
After she ghosted her hand over my newly healed injury one more time, as if making sure there was not a single place of pain on my body, she gently unwrapped the rest of the blood stained linen the farmers had given me for the journey home when I came to collect my reward.
Wendy slowly walked over to the trash bin and it was only now did I take in her appearance. She was wearing a magenta colored dress with short sleves and a small hat placed on her head.
