What I've Done

"You boys want a ride home?" Elias asked us to which we both agreed, and we went with him to his car and went home Elias was talking to Nic while I pondered the notion of what if someone saw me and I get caught, we finally arrived home and said our goodbyes to each other.

"Hi, boys how was it?" my mom asked us she just got home from her shift at the bar where she works part-time along with being part-time at Jenson's diner

"Hey mom it was alright Nico had a blackout, but we were out of his meds don't worry Elias stayed with him while I ran to McIntyre's luckily, I had enough money left over since the bloody price increased" I explain to my mom feeling guilty about lying to her on how I got the meds.

"What? why didn't you call or text me about that Austin just thank god you had the money" Mom replied worriedly

Three knocks came from the door and the panic began to set in as I see a police car outside then three more knocks, I opened the door reluctantly to be greeted by officer Reynolds "hello Austin we need to talk son is your mom home?" he asked to which I nodded and stepped to the side to allow him to enter the house.

My mom walks through from the kitchen and notices Reynolds "Graham what are you doing here I wasn't expecting you till next week" she says wondering why he is here despite being on the clock

"Hey, Isabella, you're gonna need to sit down when I say this but I'm here for Austin he was caught shoplifting from McIntyre's believe me I never in infinity would want to do this but it's for Austin's safety you know how some of these guys are here" he explains to my mom with a remorseful tone in his voice

"Nico baby go do your homework in your room, what's going to happen now and what are his options?" mom asked trying to keep strong not for me or her but Nic, last time she was like this was when she divorced my dad.

"McIntyre would have dropped all charges in exchange Austin does a few hours community service but as Austin had taken three boxes so it's most likely going to be ruled by the judge that he will have to serve time in juvie but there is another option if you are both open to the idea, The Cohen school for troubled youth about ten or fifteen miles west of town takes in people from all over the country it acts as both a high school and sort of a college so they can help get their students a better education and change of rehabilitation here's a flyer for the school, they also try to make it not cost too much more than what you already pay for Austins' school" Graham let us both know with his face seeming as if it is dealing with Deja vù.

"I'll go there it's only right after what I did it was stupid of me to steal, I know that doesn't change what I did, but I have to own up to it and accept the consequences," I say to Graham and my mom

"Austin you will still need to go to a hearing as that's the law here, unfortunately, but you won't be put in jail or anything," He says to me reassuringly though it felt he was talking to my mom more than he was me.

"I'm disappointed in you Austin but I'm glad you are at least accepting of the consequences of your actions" Mom uttered with a shaky breath not bothering to look me in my eyes.

Oliver's P.O.V

"I'm home mom what time is dad expected to be home by?" I asked curiously hanging my coat up walking into the dining room where my mom is setting the table

"Hey, Oli, he should be back around nine or ten tonight," she says to me which I respond with "Thank god I can't stand him sometimes do you know he said I give off homo vibes because my hair is too blonde literally his exact words what the fuck is wrong with him" I rhetorically ask my mother.

"Oli, watch the language and you know how your father is he's what's the right word for it? A man with what is known as true catholic values which I think is total bullshit because he isn't even catholic" she says with laughter.
