O Wind

15 4 2

O wind, sweep me away!

To unknown lands and faraway.

The eagle's cry is ringing

The wind about me singing

O, that I could fly!

For I will fly above the hills

And I will dance upon the wind

And when the evening fades to night

I'll fly away to find the light

O wind, sweep me into

The autumn woods all lit anew

The bright leaves are like fire

Like flames still leaping higher

O, for wings to fly!

O wind, sweep me to sea!

Above the waves the gulls so free

The water cold cascading

The far off coast is fading

O, that I could fly!

O wind, sweep me so high!

Upon a path to the lower sky.

The sun's gold glory brighter

The pale moon's beauty whiter

O, for wings to fly!

O wind, sweep me away

To wider lands and another day.

The morning new is springing

With joyful voice now singing

O, that I could fly!

For I will fly above the hills

And I will dance upon the wind

And when the darkness fades to day

I'll fly upon the brighter way

I wrote a free-verse composition thing similar to this a while ago, but it was lost after we changed computers. So after trying to recover it from memory right after it happened, (which didn't work), I left it alone, and came back to it only a couple months ago. But this time I changed the original concept, made it rhyme, and all that.

Again, this would be in Legea, probably Enydhwyn.

Anyway, this is the other of the poems that have been festering unpublished and unread by anyone else. I finally decided to just post them for the world.
