Cadell's Journal- Entry 3 16/06/2034
Oh man, oh man, oh man, oh man, oh man, oh man, oh man, oh man.
Sara's on to me.
I can't tell her. If I tell her, she'll freak out, ask a billion questions, and, oh, I don't know, straight up kill me!
Okay. Calm down.
Let's look at my options...
Plan 1: Tell her and the face the consequences.
Plan 2: Continue to leave her message on read, pretend she doesn't exist and let Elijah get strangled to death.
Plan 3: Lie yet again.
Elijah said I should "just tell her" but when I asked him to do it, he ran away laughing. Plan 2 is looking really appealing all of a sudden.
Finished Sara's painting yesterday. I think it's my best work to date. Maybe it will distract her somehow.
Oh man, who am I kidding?
Sitting on a chair in Psycho's Asylum, Cadell closed the journal and groaned loudly. He stared at a wall of superheroes glowing in purple.
"What would you do Batman?" Cadell said.
Three days had passed since the Hustlers defeat. Shiro had kindly offered to give a recorded message detailing all of the gangs criminal activity as well as the involvement of all key members. He even gave some wonderful compliments about the vigilante Psycho.
After sending the incriminating evidence to the police, Elijah claimed responsibility for Psycho on social media and within mere hours, newsrooms gobbled up the story. Cadell's favourite headline was: Breaking news: Psycho the vigilante cleanses once again. The notorious gang took down. It was simple, hit hard, and stated Cadell's goal perfectly.
He would never admit this to Elijah, but the growing positive publicity was kind of nice.
Cadell rested his chin on a desk. His eyes focused on a photograph of him and his parents grinning. His heart twinged.
What would they think of all this?
