"I'm sorry Kratos, but she's gone." He couldn't believe it. First his father, and now his mother. "What about the baby? What is it? Is it okay?" He said. "She is just fine. She's a healthy baby girl." Dr. Lynn looked at him. "Do you know what her name is? Did your mother have one in mind?" She was careful choosing what she said to the young boy. She knew how hard it was to lose a mom. "Yes, yes she did." He looked down at the infant. She was in a crib, sleeping peacefully. "Kali. Her name is Kali Rosary, and I will be the one to take care of her. No one will tell me otherwise, and I'll make sure that she grows up knowing that mother would have loved her." He spoke as if the child was his. "Taking care of a baby will be difficult, Kratos. You must understand that she'll need you to provide for her." Dr. Lynn put her hand on his shoulder. "But I respect your decision to keep her. If you ever need something, don't hesitate to ask. I knew your mother quite well, and I promised I would care for you both." Kratos nodded. He was still observing his little sister. "When do we know what Tier she is?" He asked. Dr. Lynn smiled. "I'm glad you asked. I took a blood sample, and the results should be ready." Dr. Lynn had closed her eyes, and what looked like a stack of papers appeared from thin air in front of them. "How did you do that?" Kratos was stunned to see what had just happened. "You forget boy, I am a doctor. I can do many things having to do with medical purposes." She smiled, took the papers floating in front of her, and started reading them. The way her expression changed, told Kratos something was wrong. "What is it? What happened?" He asked, worriedly. She looked at him and said, "Your sister... she's special. More so than I've ever seen. You mustn't let anyone take her away from you, for they can warp and twist her mind into the darkest depths upon imagination. Leave now and keep Kali safe before they find out what she is." She had emphasized the word 'they'. Was his sister really so special that people would take her away from him? He ushered the thought from his mind as he picked her up and rushed away from the hospital, from his dead mother, holding only his lightly bundled sister in his hands. What he didn't know, was how much trouble, adventure, and heartbreak the small bundle would bring in the years to come.
