Chapter 17: Sonic vs. Scourge

Hi guys, long time no see. I'm terrible sorry about the slow updates but thanks for your patient and enjoy reading this chapter.

"I've had it with your lies and hands off my Amy!" Sonic said as he held Amy close to him. "S-Sonic, how- but" "Don't worry Amy, I'm not gonna let this bastard have you." Sonic said while growling at Scourge. "You really think so, huh?" Scourge asked smirking as he was back on his feed, sword in hand and ready to attack Sonic. 

"I thought you already defeated Sonic. What's the meaning of this Scourge?" the king asked as he recognized Sonic. "Don't worry your highness, I'm gonna kill this good for nothing knight and then we can go back to my wedding." Scourge said smirking and charged at Sonic, who was holding Amy still close to him. 

Thanks to Sonic's quick reflexes he was able to defend the attack and before Scourge could attack again Sonic pushed Amy towards Rouge and Cream who were running towards their direction, including all the other knights and Tails. Amy was about to ran back towards Sonic but Rouge hold her back. "Stay back Amy, we would just be in his way." Cream said concerned. 

As the king and queen saw Shadow, leader of the knights, he got confused since Scourge said that he and his comrades were dead, killed by no one else as the princess' personal guard. "S-Shadow, but I thought-" the queen said before her husband interrupted her. "Shadow, what's the meaning of all this?" the king questioned while approaching the knights. "Your highness, I came back to report that Sonic is innocent and that Scourge and his family are the bad guys." Shadow said, loud enough so everyone could here it. 

Scourge's parents flinched as they heard the black hedgehog and Scourge growled in anger. "T-That's not true, how dare he put the blame on us. I'm sure he just wants to protect his younger sibling." Scourges father said denying. "No dad, Shadow, Sonic and I are saying the truth. Please believe us." Amy said as she pushed past Shadow.

Suddenly Scourge began laughing malignantly "It seems like I can't talk my self out of this one now, huh? Tell me than, what happened to my pet?"  Scourge asked after his laughter died down. "I killed it." Shadow said while glaring at the green maniac hedgehog. "Is that so? Well I guess now I have to kill someone who's precious to you too so we are even. " Scourge said as he looked towards Sonic before he charged at the pink hedgehog who's standing right next to Shadow. 

Thinking that Scourge would have attacked Sonic, Shadow was taken off guard as he suddenly was running towards him and Amy. The next moment was like slow motion for both Amy and Shadow as suddenly Sonic stood in front of them and took the hit, which was meant for Shadow. "SONIC, you idiot!" Shadow shouted as Sonic winced in pain but ignored the new pain in his left shoulder as he fought Scourge back, away from his brother and princess.  

Shadow was about to interfere as suddenly knights of the other kingdom charged into the small church. The black knight cursed under his breathe as he stayed put in front of the royal family, since protecting them is his first priority. While the other knights were fighting against the other kingdom's knights or where protecting citizens and everyone else who attended to the wedding, Scourge and Sonic started fighting brutally, neither of them holding back on their attacks.

While Scourge had the upper hand most of the time, thanks to Sonic's weaker state because of the wound on his side and shoulder, Sonic wasn't giving up, he would do everything to get that hedgehog out of the kingdom so Amy would be safe, no matter if he would make it out alive or not.

Minutes passed as Knuckles, Blaze, Shade, Silver and Shadow fought off all of the other knights, the only one who still was fighting was Sonic. "It's over Scourge, all your men are either dead or captured, you can't win, so surrender while you still have the chance to do so." Silver said, trying to end the fight between his older brother and the price as he saw the red stains on Sonic's side and shoulder.

"No, I'm not gonna give up." Scourge said as he kicked Sonic's feet, bringing Sonic down on his knees as Scourge tried to stab Sonic once again, but got blocked by said hedgehog. "Neither am I." Sonic said out of breath as he tried to push Scourge's sword away from him. 

"Don't interfere, that's my fight." Sonic said as he saw Shadow moving towards him. Shadow was about to protest but backed away as he saw Sonic finally getting the upper hand by kicking Scourge's sword out of his hands. Sonic then pushed Scourge on the ground, while pointing the sword on his throat. "Last chance Scourge, surrender or I'll kill you." 

"N-No, I'm not gonna surrender, I'm-" "HE'S SURRENDERING" Scourge's mother shouted as she heard what her son was about to say. "We will all surrender ... just don't kill my baby." the queen said with tears in her eyes. "Very well, I'll let you life, but you and everyone of your kingdom have to leave now and are hereby banned from this kingdom. And if we see anyone of you anywhere near my people once more, I'll not hesitate to kill you." The king announced as both of Scourges' parents agreed on the terms. 

"Shadow! Make sure you and your group escort those liars towards the border without them making any kind of trouble." The king ordered and Shadow and his group of knights nodded. "Come on, get going." Shadow said as he pushed Scourge forward and out of the church. 

While Shadow, Silver and the rest of the knights escorted everyone who doesn't belong in the kingdom to the border, Amy ran up to Sonic and hugged him tightly. "Ahh! Amy please don't huge me like that." Sonic said hissing in pain as he pushed Amy's hands away from his side but didn't let go of them. 

"Sonic. We are so sorry about the way we treated you, we should have believed you." The queen said regretful while her husband stood behind her nodding. "Don't worry about that, after all I gave you a reason to be suspicious about me and I'm sorry about tha-" Sonic said as suddenly his vision turned black and he collapses on the ground, with Amy still holding onto him. 

"Sonic, please wake up." Amy said with panic in her voice as Tails, Rouge and Cream rushed towards their side. "Don't worry Amy, he'll be fine he just needs a bit medical treatment and rest and he will be as good as new." Tails said as he checked Sonic's wounds.
