Colby high-fived me for my comment before petting the dog again, and then we made our way to a temple and handed the guy at the front desk our shoes.
Inside the temple, some fans came up to Colby, and they wanted a picture, but then shied away. Colby was given a book that he couldn't read and gave a strange look, so I laughed and he said, "Okay, laugh, Jules. Can you read this?"
"No, I don't speak Egyptian, smartie."
"Then don't laugh at me for not being able to read it, Jules."
"It wasn't for not being able to read. It was for the confused look you gave."
"Sure, Jules."
I frowned at him and crossed my arms. "Uncle Elton, Colby's being mean to me!"
Elton started laughing then said, "Colby, be nice to her. I swear to God; it's like I'm actually looking after children with these two."
Sam nodded. "That is so true!"
I glanced at my friend. "You're part of the idiocy."
"Yeah, that's true."
Outside the temple, there were a couple boys playing soccer. Elton wanted to see if they could shoot a goal past us. Elton would be going first. More and more kids showed up. They kids got a couple goals past him, and he wanted to continue trying. He failed once again, and then stopped a goal. The ball soon disappeared and we made our way to the car with the kids calling Elton's name behind us.
We drove to our next location, and Heath was the designated camera man.
As soon as we arrived, we left the car and walked through a tunnel. Sam was jokingly trying to climb the walls and Elton was encouraging him.
I rolled my eyes and said, "Juliet has left the conversation."
I left them to do whatever they were going to do and heard feet behind me and saw Colby. "I don't wanna witness someone get hurt."
"Neither do I. Are you enjoying Egypt so far?"
"Yeah, but it's hard keeping our relationship on the down low."
"Do you want to go public?"
"I mean, I wouldn't mind, but it's up to you, babe."
"Well, why don't we wait a little longer. How does that sound?"
"Wicked smart."
He laughed and kissed me moments before the other guys appeared.
The five of us walked to a market and Sam found a magic lamp and dubbed the genie Francis.
Sam put Francis down, and we walked up a flight of stairs to a blacklight room. Elton kept saying we would die, but of course, we didn't.
There were cats everywhere, and my heart was happy. Elton pet a gray one and then I pet the same one and various others. Elton said, "I think Juliet found her happy place."
I looked up at the camera and Colby said, "She definitely did. She's smiling."
Colby pulled me away from the cats and we made our way to a faux Gucci store, which had a bag for $17. Elton noticed a guy playing music and singing, and almost all of us were enjoying the music. Heath started singing along, but kept messing up the words. I mean, that sort of happens when you don't know the song.
We went to an Egyptian cafe for tea. Sam moaned and Colby showed off a little by blowing smoke out. He didn't offer it to me, as he made that mistake once. I personally don't vape, but don't judge anyone who does.
The evening took us back to the pyramids. We were seated in a row of chairs in the middle while we waited for the show to start. Colby made a joke that it would be a concert with rock music and not Egyptian. He sounded serious, but I knew he was joking, as I had the same tone when I was being sarcastic where it was sometimes hard to tell.
While the camera was off, I curled up next to Colby and he wrapped an arm around my shoulders and gave me a kiss on the top of my head.
When the concert started, we watched the pyramids light up with the fireworks and during certain points, was synchronized.
The concert finished, and Heath joked about getting a camel to get Taco Bell. Elton and Heath then joked about Colby picking me up on a white stallion. He raised an eyebrow and turned to me. "You'd like that, wouldn't you, Jules?"
"I'd rather it was a dragon."
"Then a dragon it shall be."
"#Jolby!" Sam yelled.
Heath then asked how much horsepower it would be and Elton said, "One."
We walked over to the horse and Elton pet it. A kid then climbed on it and rode it away.
As soon as we reached the hotel, we said goodbye to our driver. Tomorrow, we'd be headed to Luxor, so that meant we'd need a good night's sleep.
I got ready for bed, and browsed through Pinterest awhile before falling asleep.
