Jordan sighed. "Guys it's 9:01 and Kim and Daan aren't here yet!"
Leah shrugged. "Why are you so surprised? Daan is going to be late for her own funeral. Kim however, now that's something we should be concerned about."
"I bet she was kidnapped in her sleep. Probably by wee willy winky." Emma said, shuddering.
"Who's wee willy winky?" Jill said, turning around to face Emma.
A grin appeared on her face and she glanced towards Lisa and Jen, "Are ye' ready for a sing song?"
Those simple words sent groans across the changing rooms as the three Scottish players began to sing:
"Wee Willy Winkie rins through the toon, upstairs an' doonstairs in his nichtgoon, Tirlin' at the window, crying at the lock, 'Are the weans in their bed, for it's now ten o'clock?'
Wee Willie Winkie runs through the town, Up stairs and down stairs in his night-gown, Tapping at the window, crying at the lock, Are the children in their bed, for it's past ten o'clock?
Hey, Willie Winkie, are ye comin' ben? The cat's singin grey thrums to the sleepin hen, The dog's speldert on the floor and disna gie a cheep, But here's a waukrife laddie, that wunna fa' asleep
Hey, Willie Winkie, are you coming in? The cat is singing purring sounds to the sleeping hen, The dog's spread out on the floor, and doesn't give a cheep, But here's a wakeful little boy who will not fall asleep!
Onything but sleep, you rogue, glow'ring like the moon, Rattlin' in an airn jug wi' an airn spoon, Rumblin', tumblin' roon about, crawin' like a cock, Skirlin like a kenna-what, waukenin' sleepin' fock.
Anything but sleep, you rogue! glowering like the moon,' Rattling in an iron jug with an iron spoon, Rumbling, tumbling round about, crowing like a cock, Shrieking like I don't know what, waking sleeping folk."
"Please. Please. Please. NEVER do that again." Leah begged, as the other girls roared with laughed and applause.
Jordan continued to laugh, "Alright. So I think that Kim wrapped herself up in her blanket too tight and she can't get out."
"I bet she's stuck at the bank." Leah said wiping her face, still laughing.
"Or maybe she couldn't get Daniëlle out of her bed this morning." Kim shouted as she walked into the changing room, Daan walking sluggishly behind her.
"Oh thank god you are here! We just had to live through 5 minutes of wee Willy Winkie!" Beth said standing up instantly, a grin on her face.
"THEY DID IT WITHOUT ME?!?" Kim complained, sending glares to each of her international teammates.
"We'll include you next time Kimmy." Jen promised.
Daan however, still stayed silent as Beth went to sit down next to her.
"What's up with you? You haven't said a word to anyone since you got here." Beth nudged her.
"I have. I just haven't spoken to you because I'm giving you space like you asked."
"That's not what I meant, Daan."
"It is. You wanted me to leave you alone and that's exactly what I'm doing."
"No, Daniëlle. I said I needed space. I didn't want you to completely ignore me."
"Alright ladies, everyone out. We don't need your ears where they don't belong. If you two aren't outside in 5 minutes I'll send a search party out to find you." Kim said as everyone apart from Beth and Daan filtered out of the changing room.
"I didn't want you to give me space, I wanted you to at least try to get me to change my mind."
"Why? I know you find me annoying." Daan muttered.
"I don't find you annoying. Okay, you're a bit crazy at times but it's something I can live with."
"So do you still need time?"
"A little longer."
"Right. See you out there then, Beff." Daan said as she got up, she grabbed her jacket and walked out leaving Beth alone.
—
After training things went from bad to worse between Daan and Beth, much to everyone else's amusement. Emma made the situation 10x worse by saying what everyone was thinking.
"I think we should stick them in a room together and wait till they fornicate." She said.
"What's fornicate?" Viv asked, intrigued.
"Never you mind that, Viv." Lisa said, trying not to laugh as she put her arm protectively round her girlfriend.
—
Beth felt incredibly guilty and she didn't know how to fix it.
"Okay, So. Pros and cons of dating Daan." Kim said, turning to face Beth who was sprawled out across the sofa.
"Uhhh, the only con is I'm terrified she'll kill me."
"That'll never happen. She's like a wee child when she's with you. We're all terrified of what she'll do next but it's like you are a calm for her. It makes me wanty whitey." Emma said, making gagging noises.
Beth went into her pocket as her phone vibrated, taking it out.
Leah; we r on our way back with Daan. Talk to her please! She's driving us crazy. No rush tho :)
Beth groaned and chucked her phone onto the other sofa. When Leah, Daan and Jordan walked into the room everyone went silent and Beth got up. Not giving Daan any choice but to follow her because she grabbed her by the hand and pulled her into the other room, slamming the door behind her.
"Listen to me." Beth said turning towards her.
"What is it, Beff?"
"Ik hou van jou."
"I love you."
Daan stuttered, "What? How do you know—-"
"Does it matter how I know how to say it? Just say it back, idiot." Beth ran a hand through her hair.
"Ik hou ook van jou." Daan grinned.
That was enough for Beth and she practically jumped on top of Daan, pulling her forward so that she could kiss her.
The kiss seemed to last forever, that was until they were interrupted.
"Shit— sorry guys!" Kim rushed in, composing herself.
"What is it Kim?" Beth glared, taking Daan's hand.
"Jordan and Leah are fighting..."
Beth groaned.
"I TOLD YOU, YOU WERE GOING TO RUIN IT!!" Jordan shouted.
"WE DON'T NEED A BABYSITTER! JORDAN IS BEING INCONSIDERATE!" Leah screamed.
