I forgot to mention this before, i changed one of the twin's names from the birthday surprise chapter, it's now Gwangmin.

"I don't want you to go," cried the twins clinging on to George's leg whilst Aera was busy eating a banana that George had provided her with to even bother that her big brother was leaving. She was dressed in a Disney Princess costume dress with one of George's bucket hats on and some heart-shaped glasses, slouched on the bed.

"I'll be back, I promise." George placed down his shirt and turned to kneel down before both of the twins. They curled into his body, hiding their tear-stained faces. George hated this part, leaving them was always hard because they were now old enough to know that when George leaves, he isn't coming back for a while. "I will come back to see you soon."

The twins weren't happy with his answer, but they were aware that George wasn't going to budge so they settled for sulking. Since the visit from his mother, George hadn't been himself. He had barely looked his Father in the eye and put all of his time into bonding with the kids to keep him in high spirits. The visit hurt him a lot more than he expected. That moment was one that he used to go to bed at night praying for, but when it finally came he realized he didn't want it as much as he thought he did.

Because it made the situation that much more real. Surprisingly, George found it easier pretending that she didn't exist because knowing she did exist and did what she did just made the insecurity tumble out.

Today, he was heading back to the boys. He hadn't mentioned anything regarding the visit from his mother the last time he saw them, but they did sense something was off with him. George zipped up his bag and sat on the edge of his bed, turning to look at Aera he couldn't keep his laughter from escaping as he looked at her. She just looked so unbothered in the most mismatched outfit ever. She had since finished her banana and had now resulted in watching her older brother.

"I'm leaving today, Aera. Are you gonna miss me?"

She shook her head. "I see you when you're inside Daddy's phone."

George giggled. "When I'm inside his phone?"

She nodded her head confidently. George smiled fondly and ruffled her hair before shifting so that he was on his stomach beside her. He pressed a kiss to her cheek she crawled over and laid on top of his back. George laughed into the pillow as her tiny arms came around his neck and she rested her head on his shoulder blade. Aera and the twins had spent the last week sleeping in George's bed and he had learned that Aera liked to lay on top of him.

He'd also learned whilst spending more time with her that she had quite the little crush on Jimin. George had been on facetime with him one night and George had let her join. Jimin and George sang her to sleep and from that, she walked around screaming about her boyfriend Jimin. She constantly begged George to call him. George wouldn't lie, he hated it. She was too young.

"I'm gonna be with Jimin, are you jealous Aera?" He teased.

When she didn't respond, George turned the best he could to find her passed out on top of his back. The kid could sleep anywhere. He grabbed his phone off the pillow and snapped a quick picture making sure to set it as his home screen.  I mean, it's much easier to explain than his current one which was a meme of Jungkook.

Once all that was done, George decided to leave her for a while, so he began scrolling through Twitter. He did this for about fifteen minutes until his stepmother walked in with a bright smile on her face.

"Awww," she cooed at her two children. George looked up from his phone and smiled softly, though it wasn't as bright as she was used to, the smile was still there. "How are you doing? And don't say fine because I know better than anyone that you're seconds from bursting into tears."

George shrugged. "Not the greatest situation I've been in, it's just hard. I'm scared of being abandoned again. What if she is only here because of the fame and not because she actually wants to know me? She's had all the time in the world, why now? Why wasn't I worth anything before?"

Dahae hated this. George was always hyperactive, loud and never had a frown on his face. She sighed and reached up to brush the strands of hair away from George's face before cupping his cheek, giving him no choice but to meet her eye.

"If she doesn't love you for you then she's not worth your time and I know that's not a nice thing to say about the woman that brought you into this world, but you have to remember that she's a stranger to you. She might be your mother biologically, but you didn't have a single clue who she was until a week ago. Give her the chance, let her prove herself but never feel like you're not worth anything because you are worth everything to me, your father, you members, siblings, fans, everyone George. Blood makes you related. Loyalty makes you family."

With a kiss on his cheek, Dahae stood up and gently lifted the toddler off of him and headed out the room leaving George alone with his thoughts.

Loyalty makes you family.

George sighed and ran a hand through his hair. She's all he's ever wanted but not what he needed. Still, George made the rash decision to allow her to stay in his life to prove herself. No matter what, she will never be the mother that Dahae is and he made that promise not only to himself but to his family too; she's loyal. She's family.

______________

The ending is terrible, but I was genuinely lost on ways to end it. Oops.
