Nebb's single bulging eye darted in terror. Everywhere the young cyclops looked was a hulking figure. Most of them were armored, and many of them rode atop strange, four-legged beasts that snorted and screamed as they sped about the field.
He ducked and dodged their long weapons as he scrambled back to the house. He had to find the spell book. He'd used it to bring the monsters here, maybe it could banish them.
He'd just been fooling around, and hadn't really believed it would work. Nebb hadn't even thought humans were real until they charged through the portal.
