Sugaku Academia Prologue and Chapter 1

Sugaku Academy. Also known as the mythical Academy of Math Wizards. The academy is known only for it being a legend to all. They say this Academy is magic, Mathematical Terms describe you and your magical capability... but they say this Academy doesn’t even exist. Even in normal school books, it wasn’t featured as often even in the prestigious Cambridge University; The University of Math Geniuses in London.

Legends say this Academy features some of the most well-known Mathematicians today such as Pythagoras, Euclid, Archimedes, Euler, Isaac Newton, Sofia Kovalevskaya, Ada Lovelace and many more. But their timeline in this Academy werent even mentioned in their contexts. Whether they studied there or not.

Some says these Mathematicians received several badges. Badges, or should I say symbols that gave them magic. Math magic perhaps. Archimedes was the most powerful. The very first Alpha in the Sugaku Academy. Alpha has 3 abilities. Destruction, Rebirth, and Revolution. This was one of the Supreme 4 symbols. The Supreme 4 symbols includes Alpha, Omega, Delta and Beta. Archimedes... He was the most powerful until Rene Descartes arrived. The Omega.

Rene changed the balance of symbols between all these. He turned Omega into the most powerful symbol. Having 4 abilities... all are destructive energies. Chaos, Apocalypse, Dark Ritual and Omega. Rene, with this power was consumed by Omega. He turned to Omega himself... but Archimedes revived Pythagoras. Sealing Omega and killing Rene afterwards.

Decades past, they thought Omega was the most powerful symbol. Until Isaac Newton, a Phi, discovered the symbol Pi. Pi was known to contain 4 abilities... but Isaac knew it wasn’t just that. Its power was so complex that the moment Isaac touched the symbol, it killed him. Anyone who was not worthy of Pi will be killed.

Nobody interfered with this legendary symbol. Since then, nobody acquired the symbol of Pi and its power. Its magic remained unknown and a mystery to all. Because of this, the Supreme 4 changed into Alpha, Omega, Delta and Pi. Beta was removed from the list for it only contain 2 abilities.

In a sacred book of Magic, where everyone believes Isaac wrote, are listed the ability of each symbols.

Alpha – The Beginning, Rebirth.
Omega – The End, Apocalypse.
Delta – The Change, Transition.
Pi – The Infinite, Evergreen.
Phi – The Fibonacci, World.
Aleph – The Empty, Suicide.
Omicron – The Cold, Ice.
Mu – The Dark, Fire.
Nu – The Light, Electric.
Iota – The Illusion, Complex.
Beta – The Integral, Identity.
Gamma – The Function, Multiple.
Epsilon – The Present, Quantity.
Zeta – The Unknown, Hypothesis.
Eta – The Relativity, Quantum.
Theta – The Value, Hypotenuse.
Kappa – The Probability, Chance.
Lambda – The Wave, Energy.
Xi – The Variable, Loneliness.
Rho – The Spectrum, Prism.
Sigma – The Limit, Notation.
Tau – The Possible, Artefact.
Upsilon – The Strength, Power.
Psi – The Undead, 9 Lives.
Chi – The Centre, Surface.

Penelope’s Point of View

“Penelope! Hah, you don’t belong here in Cambridge.” Mary, the school bully who made my life miserable for almost 3 years, here again with her usual speech. “What are you even doing here?”

It’s been 3 years. I got used to her blabbering about me being here in Cambridge University. A prestigious school for Math Wizards where I don’t really belong... but I had no choice. This university gave me scholarship. This is one of the most decent school, and what else should I ask? All I had to do was suffer for 4 years and boom! I graduate and get a job.
