I get up and head out to the living room. Brandon is still there watching tv. “I’m going to the store, want to come?” He nods. “Sure.” I wave my hand and he gets up and follows. We head out to the store.
We’re not even at the store fifteen minutes when I get a text from Cailey. “I hope you’re at home.” I get a little worried when I read that. “No, why?” She responds quickly. “She just left to go home. I think she might be going just to search your office.” Damn! “Is there any way you can stop her?” She again quickly responds. “No. She’s already left.” I start cursing under my breath.
Brandon walks over to me. “What’s wrong dad?” I am so enraged, I don’t answer right away. “Cailey just text me. Jaedyn left her at the store to go home.” He shakes his head. “Do you think she’ll look through your computer?” I shrug. “Most likely. That’s where I keep just about every file that’s important.” He looks down at the floor. “Damn.”
“Let’s finish up here and head home.” Brandon shakes his head in agreement. It takes us nearly ten minutes to finish up and go through the check-out. The store is very busy today. We get in my car and I drive as fast as I can home.
When we arrive, I see Brandon’s car. “Good. She’s still here.” I get out quickly and get inside. I’m hoping to confront her before she tries to lock herself in her room or tries to leave. I go straight to my office. She’s not in there, so I start searching the house. As Brandon walks in with our stuff, he looks up at me as I rush down the stairs. “She’s not here.”
He gets a worried look on his face. He turns around and looks at the table next to the door. He walks over to it, picks something up and turns back to me. “These are my keys. She must’ve left on foot or with someone else.” Damn. I text Cailey. “She’s not here. She left Brandon’s car here. She’s either on foot or with someone.” She responds. “I’ll go to our usual spots and look for her.” I sigh. “Okay. Let me know if you find her or hear from her.” She responds quickly with, “I will.”
I text Jaedyn’s dad to let him know what she’s doing. If he’s not home now, he will be when I tell him what she’s up to. I probably should’ve told him earlier when she first left, but I wanted to spend time with my man. “I hope you’re at home.” I stand around and wait for him to respond. “No, why? I respond quickly. “She just left to go home. I think she might be going just to search your office.” Oh, he’s going to be pissed. “Is there any way you can stop her?” I type quickly. “No. She’s already left.”
I know she’s been gone for some time now, but I honestly am getting tired of keeping this secret from her. I’ve kept this secret for so long. The only reason why Jason knows is because I couldn’t take it anymore. I hope she understands. About ten minutes go by when I get another text from Jaedyn’s dad. “She’s not here. She left Brandon’s car here. She’s either on foot or with someone.” Hmm. I wonder where she could have gone. I text back. “I’ll go to our usual spots and look for her.” He takes his time responding. “Okay. Let me know if you find her or hear from her.” My response is, “I will.”
I pull my mobile out of my pocket. I was going to check my e-mails when I remembered I turned my mobile off. I’m about to turn it back on when Peter stops me. “Remember, they can track you if you turn it on.” I sigh. “I just want to check my e-mails.” He chuckles. “Such a girl.” He said it in a playful voice. I hit his arm in a playful way and he chuckles again.
“Are we almost there?” He laughs. “Inpatient are we?” I chuckle. “Yeah, just a bit. I’m nervous, excited, scared, and mad all rolled up together.” I patted my hand. “You’ll be alright. You’re a tough chick.” I don’t feel that way. I wonder what everyone else is doing. It’s possible they have already figured out that I’m gone. Good thing we’re close to being in Wales. “We should be in Wales in the next forty minutes or so.” I smile. “Okay.” We continue to drive in silence.
