Narrator pov
After our meal that we had, we left. It was around 6pm by then. We were walking when I noticed Programmer was taking me in a different direction of where our homes are normally.
"Um.. Programmer! Where are we going? We aren't going the right way.. "
I told him. Maybe he didn't know.
"I know Narrator. There's something I wanted to show you, just follow me. "
He replied with a smile that makes even the night seem as bright as the sun.
He lead the way. I didn't bother to ask him what he wanted to show to me, I presume it's a surprise. He's awfully excited, it's sweet.
"We're here! " Programmer exclaimed, gesturing to a thick vine wall.
I looked at him confused, "what do you mean?"
He smiled another like the first, and pushed aside the vines and behind them was light. He and I walked through.
I looked upon the newfound scenery in aw. There was a waterfall and fireflies all around. And just above was the clear sky, now filling with the stars of this night. The grass was green and occasionally in places there'd be bunches of clovers or dandelions, ready to be wished on.
I turned to him, he was still smiling to me, "Do you like it?" He asked as he glows in the firefly's light.
I let out a small laugh. "Do I like it?? Programmer this is extraordinary! It's absolutely beautiful in every way. I love it! "
He seems very happy to see that I enjoy it. Programmer walked farther into the area and started climbing the rocks, up to the waterfall.
"A-are you crazy? What are you doing, you might fall!" I yelled to him in concern.
"It's okay Narrator, come up with me! The sky is clearer up here, " He assured. I still felt uneasy about climbing up. I wanted to, but I've never climbed up anything like this before.. Programmer came down and went to me. "Trust me. It'll be okay!"
He took my hand and started to climb with me. I do trust him, he's very sweet, and very kind.
Once he and I made it up, we sat at the edge of the crashing waterfall. He let out a sigh and leaned back, then looked up at the stars, which were now crystal clear.
"This is where I normally go to get away from everything.. Pretty silly huh? Hehe." Programmer said.
"What? No of course not! Everyone needs to get away from time to time. You're just fortunate enough to have such a beautiful place to go when you need it.. " I reassured, while looking at the fireflies around us.
I eventually leaned back as well. The fireflies and stars combined and created a soft glow around our faces.
"Well its been very lonely here... Even if I want to get away, I still feel like I need someone... Just to hold. And tell me that everything will get better. Does that make sense? "
I nodded. "It's normal for people to have those feelings. Sometimes we assume we need nobody for a moment, but then come to find out that just one somebody is what we need."
Programmer laughed. "You know so much about this life thing. You seem to know exactly how to make phrase things, and how to me feel better, even if you don't try...Before I met you, I stayed here for hours almost every day. But it never helped. And now I understand why" He looked into my eyes and smiled.
"It was because I never had you to share this place with.. " He intertwines our hands, and I feel so happy.
He picks my hand up gently and kisses the top of it. I'm so overcome with joy that I lean over and give him a proper kiss. It's a sweet one, a lasting one.
But soon enough, we departed. Our hands still intertwined, and the glow around us as bright as ever.
