Hey everyone! I just wanted to quickly thank everyone for reading, voting and commenting on this story in the last few weeks. The response I have gotten has been unbelievable and I wanted to thank you in some way so I thought... what better way then to put out another chapter for you?
"Annabelle please just let me do it for you" I begged as I was forced to watch my heavily pregnant wife try and cook dinner.
"Jax I'm pregnant... not an invalid so sit down and let me do my thing. Besides your cooking is rubbish and I actually feel like eating something edible tonight of you don't mind".
I sighed as I watched Annabelle waddle around the house, whilst trying not to comment again on the fact that she shouldn't be on her feet at nine months pregnant. Her due date was any day now but my mate being my mate wanted to do everything herself. She was just as stubborn as ever, maybe even more so since we got pregnant.
Suddenly I heard a clatter and I looked up to fine Annabelle staring at the wooden spoon she had accidently dropped on the floor.
I held in a laugh as I watched her stare at the spoon in concentration.
"Did you want me to pick that up for you?" I asked, already knowing the answer to my question.
"Nope, I've got it" she replied with determination, still staring at it.
"Are you sure?" I asked again, already starting to get up from my seat at the island in the kitchen.
"I said I've got it" she semi snapped at me as she braced herself against the counter as she started to bend down.
I watched her bend down into some form of squat, using the kitchen cupboard door to balance herself.
"Ah ha!" She exclaimed as she got down far enough to reach the spoon.
I stared at her in amusement, trying to hide my sirk behind my hand. I knew exactly what was coming next.
"You see, I told you I could get it without your help" she smiled as she looked over at me in triumph.
"That's great baby, now you're going to need to get up if you don't want your sauce to burn" I told her as I pointed towards the pan that was bubbling away on the stove.
"Crap" I heard her mutter under her breath before she placed both hands on the floor and tried to push herself up. Safe to say she didn't get very far off the ground.
"Need a hand there little mate?" I asked, still trying to hide the smirk behind my hand.
"Nooo... I... got... this..." she stuttered out as she tried once again to push herself off the floor "I don't got this" she finally said she started to wobble and fall back down to the floor. Luckily I was close enough to catch her.
"Will you let me help you know?" I laughed as I was no longer able to hide the smirk from her.
"Fine if you insist" she sighed as she let me pull her up by her hands, wooden spoon in tow.
"There" I stated as I set her upright on her feet "that wasn't so hard now was it?" I teased.
'Oh shut up' she said with an eye roll but it wasn't long before she was laughing with me at the entire situation.
"JAX!" Xavier suddenly shouted from the doorway as he ran into the kitchen, letting the front door swing back and hit the wall with a bang. "JAX!"
I was instantly alert as I saw my out of breath best friend and beta run round the corner and into the kitchen. "What's the matter?" I asked, on edge.
