Today was the day; the day I was finally able to start a life with Vic without anything holding us back. I felt wary because life always threw something at us that would stop us from being together, but I was determined to make this work.

The past couple of weeks had been intense. Vic broke things off with Leo for good this time. He went and talked to him the day after Mike and Tay's baby was born. She and Tay were doing great. They were the cutest little family and were all now in good health. Vic wanted to stay and help them out, but Mike assured us that they would be fine on their own, so we reluctantly left to face our own reality.

Waiting for him to come back to me from Leo's house was agonizing. I had no idea how the conversation would go and I was so paranoid that Leo would do or say something to make Vic stay, but he did come back to me and was met with me pouncing on him and refusing to let go. I didn't think I'd be letting him out of my sight for too long any time soon.

Vic told me everything about his long conversation with Leo. He explained to him that he was in love with me and that nothing could change it. He didn't feel any remorse towards Leo because of what he had done to me. He was no longer the man Vic had fallen in love with, and he had fallen in love. I couldn't deny that. I could see it when I first saw them together. They had been in love and were planning a life together. Past tense, though. If something isn't right, then it will end and stay ended. There was a time in my life that I thought Vic and I had ended, but it goes to show that perseverance will win out in the end. If it's meant to be, then it'll happen, even if it does take a while.

Leo didn't take the news so well. From what I gathered, he wasn't taking any responsibility for his actions. He blamed me for what he did. He said that I deserved what happened. He said I drove him to switching my pills. He called me a home wrecker, which in a way I was. I wouldn't say that helping Vic cheat was the right thing to do, but in the end it made him realize the type of person Leo really was deep down so I wouldn't take it back.

Leo was vengeful. He tried to get me kicked out of college, but the joke was on him since I wanted to leave in the first place. It was an amazing feeling to leave that place. I felt freer to live my life and do whatever I wanted. I had already started doing my own art work and was planning to sell it online. I had also talked to Valerie who said she would move my position up to full time if I proved that I could be a hard worker and not have any incidences like the one I had with being rude to a customer. Valerie understood why I had done that though. All in all, things were looking up for me.

Vic on the other hand wasn't as well off as I was. Leo got him fired. Vic fought it, of course, but Leo was a manipulative son of a bitch and he was able to sway the education board by distastefully bringing up the fact that Vic had an affair with a student when he taught high school. It was a low blow, but along with a lot more trash talking and the fact that Leo and his dad had a huge influence with the board, Vic was fired.

Vic was trying to act strong about it, but I knew how much he loved teaching and now he couldn't do it. He had a plan though. If no one would hire him, he would be self-employed until someone would. He put an advertisement out for tutoring lessons in biology. Vic would put his skills to good use on individual people who needed them, and those people would hopefully not find out, or care about, getting fired for dating a student. He already had a couple of people interested. I had faith that it would work out for him.

Added on to Vic getting fired was him getting kicked out of home. He had nowhere to go and since Oliver wasn't going to be back from tour for a couple of weeks, I let Vic stay with me. It was really weird living there with him, and he felt weird about it too, which is why we went apartment hunting straight away. It was easier than expected. It wasn't long before we found one that was in our price range and sort of close by. It was one room, one bathroom and one kitchen. It was small but it would do for us for now. It was all that we needed until we could save up for a bigger place.
