MINA POV:
We'd been safely hiding in this crazy house for a little over a month now. Yes, a month. In that month nothing too dramatic happened, just Chaeyoung and I spent more time together. She and her sisters rekindled their bond that had faltered in those five years. All of us, even the four girls previously affiliated with the doctor, had a new found friendship that we cherished.
I wondered seriously when things would all return back to normal; I wondered if they even would or if we'd be stuck in this endless cycle of chaos and hiding. It was an annoying thought really as I looked at the monitors before me. I just wanted to be with Chaeyoung in a normal way, like the other girls got to for five years.
"Mina? Hey, what are you looking at?" Jennie asked as she walked over.
"Oh, I'm just glaring at the monitors really," I replied, sighing.
"Hey, seriously, we're safe here Mina," Jennie said with a comforting smile.
"I know," I replied with a similar smile.
"MINA," Chaeyoung said barging in.
"Yes, love?" I asked, looking at her slightly confused.
"I... I think it's time," Chaeyoung said.
"Time for what?" I asked, only getting further confused.
"Time that I tell you the whole truth, I just told the others and... I think you can know now," Chaeyoung said.
"The whole truth..?" I said, slightly concerned as I walked over to her.
"Yes, the whole truth," Chaeyoung said, "Come on, we'll talk in our room, it's gonna be a lot to take in."
I followed her quietly, holding her hand before we reached our room and sat down on the bed facing each other. She looked more than nervous and mostly stressed, but she looked at me with that look. That look filled with love and regret all together, but the look that made my heart swell.
"Okay, I guess... I should start by letting you know that I've been alive for around than two years--"
"Wait what?! I thought you said two months?!" I exclaimed, feeling a little hurt that she had hid this from me.
"I know, I know I told you two months, I didn't want to scare you when I first got you back..." Chaeyoung said, with a small sigh, "I said two months because I've really only been in this body, this whole body, for two months."
"Wh-What does that mean?" I asked, watching the expression on Chaeyoung's face change.
"Well, when I was first brought back to life... I barely had any skin, some of my organs were literally dead or eaten by bugs and... overall I was disgusting Mina," Chaeyoung explained, "It took a year simply to get all my inner organs fixed and another eight months to fix my skin and brain and eyes and little things like that, it was... horrible. And then we needed to spend a few months getting my body to be able to walk, for me to be able to talk, and such..."
"Oh," I quietly said, there wasn't much else to say, but I could feel it, this deathly dangerous anger about to consume me, knowing that Chaeyoung had suffered to get where she was now.
"And then finally, how around three months ago, my body functioned properly all of my vampiric abilities were working and I felt like I could breathe, but it came at a cost Mina..." Chaeyoung said, evidently careful with her words.
"What Chaeyoung? The cost... What's the cost..?" I asked, scared of what she was to say.
"I..." She looked down, away from me, and I saw the teardrops fall.
