Chapter 27

Chris POV

Lilian was due now any day and I've tried letting her have some space, but with the call I received that Raphael had escaped from jail. I didn't want to risk it and also didn't want to get her worried.

I called her father and told him about the call I received today. I needed to keep Lilian and our unborn baby safe.

I  had called security and made sure there were enough to be around the house. I couldn't work with Raphael out and as I was headed out of the office and my phone started ringing with my mothers name.

"Chris,
Your father has been shot! He shot him! We're in the hospital."

"Mother, please stay calmed I will be right there. Which hospital are you guys in? "

"Mercy Hospital, son please hurry."

I called Lilian's father so they could go to the house because I didn't want to worry Lilian and I wanted someone with her.

As I reached the hospital I saw my mother in tears and I rushed towards her.

"Mother how's my father?"

"The doctors took him in to surgery to remove the bullets."

"Do you know how it happened?"

"Yes, it was that Raphael man."

"That son of a Bitch."

"Son, it's best if you go home and keep Lilian and my granddaughter safe. Go home and I'll update you."

"Mother, I'm not leaving you here alone. All the Castelo are at the house. I just checked the house cameras before I got here."

Thirty minutes later a doctor came by and said  my father was out of surgery and he was in room 212.

My mother rushed towards the room and I talked to the doctor about my father situation.

" Mr Hernandez, Luckily, he made it in time. If it wasn't for your mother who brought him here I wouldn't know what to tell you."

I went towards the room and my father and mother were talking.

"Father, How are you feeling?"

"Son,
That bastard of Raphael is after the baby.
Please get enough security to watch Lilian."

With that being said I told my parents I would come and see them tomorrow. After I got home all the Castelo Family was in the living room.

I greeted everyone and kissed Lilian as a approached her. We sat and talked and soon her father and I went towards my office.

"Chris, son how's your father?"

"He's Good now, but Raphael had attempted to kill him."

"I'm glad he's good. Listen son, if you guys want to come in stay at our house I'm willing to do my best to keep our family safe."

"I appreciate your thought, but I Raphael knows that place and since we recently moved here he wouldn't know to find us."

Both of us got distracted with a knock on the door.

"Father, Chris, dinner is ready we're waiting for you guys."

After dinner was served the Castelo family left and Lilian seem to suspect something. She kept asking why I came home late and why were her whole family at the house? And, about the security.

"Honey, since your due any day I don't want you alone."

I made up an excuse so she would stop asking more questions.

Lilian and I had gone to bed and I couldn't sleep. Just the thought of Raphael taking our baby or harming Lilian made my blood boil. Then again I tried to relax looking at Lilian moving around in her sleep.

"Lilian, Babe is everything okay you've been moving a lot I came towards the bed as she woke up."

"I wish you were pregnant, so you could feel how I feel." She said as she laughed

I laughed and took her carried her back to our bed.

"Well you know we can practice on how to make another baby?"

"Chris, babe I want to wait a while after we have our daughter maybe two years or so."

"That will work, sweetheart."
And ended our night with a kiss.

I decided I was going to work from home until I heard that Raphael was put into jail.
I woke up today around 5 am thinking I should get more security just in case.

I was in the kitchen thinking when I saw Lilian coming down stairs.

Good morning, how's my beautiful fiancé and our daughter?"

"Well your daughter is hungry and I keep getting contractions!"

"Let's go to the hospital!"

"No Chris, Doctors told us if they're strong then we go, otherwise don't."

"Babe, are you sure? Let's just go just in case."

"No, let's just wait."

Later that night Lilian's water broke and we rushed to the hospital and our beautiful daughter Evelyn Marie was born within an hour.

I was going outside the room to get some coffee for my parents along with Lilian's parents.

Suddenly, I received a phone call from an unknown number and I answered the phone.

"Well congratulations Christopher, how does it feel to be a father, don't think it isn't over. My next step is to kill Lilian and that stupid daughter of yours."
