Author's POV:
___________________________________"What do you mean?" She asked him after a moment of tense silence, the sinking feeling in her gut worsening as Cameron tried to get ahold of his bearings to explain to her. It's difficult, however, when he didn't even know what was happening to himself.
"I know it sounds crazy." He gulps, only worsening the dryness in his throat, before looking away. "Mr. Wild, he is a part of me that keeps taking control. He speaks to me, sways my thoughts so effortlessly. E- Even if it's something I don't want to do, he forces me to do it." Sucking in a strangled breath, Cameron looked down at his open palms. They shook with fear and grew clammy with cold sweat. "Not all my actions are my own, and when he takes over, I lose all touch with everything going on around me, unable to think for myself, unable to stop him."
He dared to meet Y/N's petrified expression, watching as she digested the information in stunned silence. Likely, she didn't believe him. He couldn't blame her. This all sounded science fiction, or dare he say, downright supernatural, as though a demon had invaded his body and forced him to do all these wretched things. He'd rather believe that than accept that he was actually a part of himself, even if that's what Wild claims he is.
"I didn't mean to hurt you," he expressed firmly, hoping she picked up on his sincerity. "I never wanted to do that. He took over like instinct, and... I am so, so sorry. I patched the injury as best as I could. I was just trying to... I just wanted to clean it all up. I didn't want you to have to see any more bodies. It was bad enough when..." Mr. Normal caught himself, but he didn't have to say it. Y/N figured it out well enough on her own. The color in her face seemed to drain as her eyes grew larger, bulging and glossy with tears.
"Don't tell me..."
"Yes, I was the one." Cameron felt a hot tear slip from his eye. More followed it as his heart clenched in his chest. "I was the one who drowned Darlene's daughter. It was the first time he took over." Bringing his hands to his face, Cameron hid against the palms, lips pulled into an expression of pain as he felt a greater yanking in his chest. "I was also the one who decapitated her husband. Wild, he wanted me to kill Darlene too, but by the time I got there, she had already taken her own life... Which is a real shame."
A grin broke out across Cameron's face, pulling at the muscles in his face hard. It was painful for him as his mind began to slip from his grasp. Striking, grey eyes peered up through his fingertips, and a cold wave of fear rushed over her when she recognized those eyes. She had seen them only once on him before, focused and cold, so intense that she felt as though an arrow had struck her through the chest. The only remnants of Normal were the trembling of his hands, but soon, that subsided, and they were steady. "Because I was really looking forward to killing that bitch."
Y/N flinched at his use of harsh language. Cameron had never sworn in the time she knew him, too soft-spoken and polite for those sorts of things. It felt wrong hearing it come out of his mouth, more so his desire to murder that woman. She pushed back against the wall as the man tilted his head. Smile never changing from its unnervingly wide state, he leaned forward, palms against the floor as he rose up on his knees, eager to see the fear on her face.
"All those nasty looks she gave made me want to stab out her eyeballs. Always suspicious, always ignoring poor Normal's attempts at friendship. If you had only seen the way she treated him, you would understand just how much she deserved to suffer. Even worse, Normal couldn't take her talking to you about him. That is what you two discussed, after all, isn't it? The way you looked at our house after leaving her home certainly proved as much. She told you not to trust him, she wanted to split you apart, wanted to keep you away for your own good," Wild spoke with confidence as he crawled closer, stopping just short of the neighbor's face. She shook and cowered under his intense gaze, too frightened to speak.
