"There we are," Cameron whispered under his breath, the sound trembling as he felt his throat tighten up. As gently as humanly possible, he laid his neighbor's body upon a cushy pile of blankets and pillows, hoping it would spare her from the cold, unfeeling cement floor of the basement. He refused to disregard her comfort, even now, in a situation like this. No, especially in a situation like this. The poor dear.

He didn't want it to be this way. He was supposed to have everything cleaned up before she ever found out. She was never meant to find out, and dear gods, he hurt her. How could he do that to the person he loves?! Mr. Normal was in tears. No matter how much he tried to calm his nerves there was no subduing them. He wasn't even sure a fresh brewed cup of tea could snap him out of his fit of tremors. He'd likely end up dropping the cup and spilling it all over himself. He felt like a mess, and for once, he was thankful for Wild's guidance because without it, he would truly dig himself into a hole with worry. The task at hand was enough to keep his mind steady. Oh, who is he kidding?! In what world would this be considered stable thinking?! He just kidnapped someone! Worse yet killed another person!

With each passing second, the knot in his stomach tightened as he broke into a cold sweat. Concentrate, Normal, concentrate. Out of everything, though, he dreaded Y/N wakening the most. How would she react now that she knows the truth that all this time he has been the one she was so afraid of? He lied straight to her face, and more than that, had the nerve to comfort her after all he's done.

"I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry." His fingers skimmed over the bandages wrapped around her head as if the slightest touch would open her wound and felt a pang in his heart. "I'm so sorry, Y/N. Truly." Sniffling, the man wiped his teary eyes and sighed as he placed a blanket over her body, finding solace in the fact that she's still breathing. He felt his soul leave him when her face scrunched and a strained groan escaped her parting lips. Nothing eligible came from the words she attempted to spout as an incessant throbbing pounded at the back of her head. She could hardly get her eyes to open more than a little bit, allowing her to see the blurry figure hovering over her with concern. Then, a sweet, familiar voice filled her ears.

"Oh, thank goodness." Seeing her moving, though startling, was relieving too. "I was so scared."

"C... Cam..." Her fingers twitched behind her, noting an uncomfortable pressure around the wrists. Realizing she was on the floor, Y/N's first instinct was to try and sit up only for a gentle hand to lay her back down.

"I'm here, Y/N. I'm right here. Just try to relax. If you move too fast, you might hurt yourself."

"Where... Are we?" Her head lulled side-to-side only making her wince in pain. The room was, well, normal for an unfinished basement. There was a boiler, some storage, pipes, the works and every wall was covered in wood paneling. It was no less clean than the rest of Cameron's house, though that was mainly due to the frantic cleaning he did to keep himself busy and not think about the fact that he has his neighbor tied up in his basement.

"In my home. I'm sorry, Y/N. I know this isn't the comfiest place. I... I did my best to make it manageable. Now, don't you worry about a thing. I'll have everything taken care of." Picking up a glass of water, he brings it to the woman's lips a bit hurriedly before she could realize the events leading up to her coming here. Inside it, he had dissolved one of his sleeping pills. Last thing he wants is for her to strain herself in this condition. "Drink up." Knowing the water wouldn't sit well if she drank it lying on the floor, he helped her sit up a little, forming a stack of pillows behind her to keep her stable. Y/N hardly had time to process him pouring it into her mouth and ended up chugging the whole glass after realizing how thirsty she was. He was happy she did not fight it.
