At her question, An Yan Ran shook her head.

"The doctor said that my condition is not to be worried about considering that I have a strong physique! Now that Mei mei thinks about it, it would have been really scary if Jie jie fell into the water instead!"

Why would it be scary for her to fall into the water?

Obviously, that little girl knew about her weakness!

An Qing Ran face turned cold.

"Mei mei should be more careful too! The servant that made your shoes should be punished! She wasn't able to present proper shoes. If it wasn't for your embroidered slippers, sliding off your foot none of this would have happened!"

An Yan Ran answered with small yes and nodded. After a moment of silence, she asked.

"Jie jie, how did you twist your ankle?"

"There was a hole in the ground." An Qing Ran answered looking into An Yan Ran's clear eyes.

"It must have been so! Else why would Jie jie not come to help?"

"Why would Yan'er say such a thing? Jie jie felt so helpless at the time..."

An Qing Ran tried her best to perfom as the naive girl she was in her past life.

An Yan Ran stayed a little longer. After that small exchange, she never mentioned the incident again. An Qing Ran knew that her sister had observed her injured foot at every chance she got. Her Mei mei would never believe what other say so easily, she had to make sure!

Lian Jin Yu visited Xi Wu Yuan every day, to make sure that her daughter was properly taken care of and no mistake would occur during her treatment.

In the beginning, An Qing Ran was overjoyed by her mother's visits. She would stick to her and have a long talk about every little thing. But soon she realized that somethig was not right. Her mother had kept this routine for ten days.

"Niang, managing the Fu should not be this leisurely, how come you have time to accompany this daughter every day? You shouldn't neglect the household affairs!"

"What nonsense are you dpouting? Taking care of you is your mother firts priority!"

Lian Jin Yu looked at the girl lying in bed and felt distresses.

"Such a big child! Why weren't you a bit more cautious? Fortunately, nothing major happended to An Yan Ran, otherwise, Mother would be worried sick!"

An Yan Ran didn't tell Lian Jin Yu about her shoes slipping. She obviously would never say such a thing to her mother... She would let the woman worry needlessly instead.

An Qing Ran's mother always treated An Yan Ran like she was her own. If someone was to come to unveil the girl mask, revealing all her scheme it would possible for Lian Jin Yu to become suspicious for that person instead. She would not believe such a truth!

"Niang, I am fine! My ankle is a bit sprainded that's all... You should take care of father!"

The girl responded with a smile.

"You child! Are you a ghost?"

"Niang..."

"Fine! You are more nagging than a mother! Niang is leaving now. Be careful! Do not move your foot, be nice to mother!"

"This daughter knows!"

With these words, she sent her mother out and sight in relief.

How could she let her mother gain absolute power over the general's Fu? Only when she had accomplished this would she be able to relax.

She didn't know why she could not feel at ease even when her Yiniang was confined in Lan Xiao Pavillion.

It was probably because she knew better than anybody else how scary that mother and daughter pair schemes could be...

Thinking about the devils... In Lian Xiao Pavillion. An Yan Ran was preparing to relate her own version of the events to her mother.

Knocking the courtyard door open she went straight to the woman chamber.

Although her father had banned Lian Jin Rong to meet anyone. Most servants turned a blind eye after the girl had brided or threatened them. The only bottom line was that her mother couldn't step away from this courtyard.

An Yan Ran quickened her footsteps and put on a distressed face as if she had something of the outmost importance to say.

Her expression full of grievance she planned to tell Lian Jin Rong the tale of how An Qing Ran had deliberately tripped her to make her fall into to the cold lake. Fanning her mother hatred for the legitimate miss.

Lian Jin Rong listened to her daughter while gnashing her teeth. However, she did not have a scheme in hand.
