"Yo! Yo! Yo!" Halima badges into my office with no respect whatsoever for protocol . God why me!!
"Halima can I help you?" I frowned at her.
"Hello! I work here remember?" Halima replied, ignoring my failed attempt at rudeness. God I hate it when she does that.
"Down at the thirteenth floor you mean" I retorted as she helped herself with a seat.
"Na you sabi, same building". She replied as she picked up one of the folders on my desk and began to scan through the files. " uuuuuh" she cooed, "this one's cute". " I wonder if he would like me" she mused.
"Halima give that back" I demanded. "And does Emeka let you waltz in and out as you please?" I asked as I snatched the folder from her hand.
"Please it's not my fault I'm so good at my job is it?" She waved her hand sassily at me. "And besides Emeka sent me here".
"What for?" I furrowed my eyebrows at her.
"To help him with you na"
"Really? He sent you?" I asked, still frowning at her.
"Well__, no but I have taken it upon myself to bring you two together. And this union my friend, will be highly beneficial to the universe". " you should be happy you have me looking out for you sef".
"Really?" I sneered. "Are you sure its not the other way round?"
"OK I choose not to respond to that, only because I don't want you playing the mommy card right now" Halima replied.
"That's because you know I'm right" I stated emphatically.
"Here we go again" Halima rolled her eyes at me. "Can we talk about something less boring please?"
"Like what?" I asked.
"Well for starters, we haven't been on a girls night out in a while_"
"If you're thinking what I think you're thinking, I can't go out with you tonight" I interrupted.
