The State Museum of Harrisburg was enormous. Not that much but it still intrigued me.
"Adrian will go over to that statue and get that disk." Caden instructed the group. "You two will keep an eye out here if you see Blake. Or anything suspicious."
To my surprise, a lot of people were going in. Even in the morning. Like, who goes to a museum first thing in the morning?
"I'll need someone to help me with that metal bar." Adrian pointed out. I wasn't surprised that he was chosen for that task. That guy could really become invisible. I've been an eye witness to that.
Caden looked around the group. Ignoring me, on purpose.
"I'll go with him." I spoke out. Everyone's attention diverted towards me.
"You won't." Caden stated.
"And besides, he might just forget the code. Won't you, Adrian?" I asked, giving him a pointed look. His eyes widened a little in realization.
"I won't. So I'll help him out." I added.
"Yeah." Adrian repeated.
Everyone looked like they agreed. Except Caden. "You know how dangerous that is?" He looked at me.
"I know. But Jesse and Shane are looking out for Blake, right? They'd let us know if he comes." I looked at Shane with a pleading look.
Shane nodded in response. "Yeah."
"And besides, she has the gun." Jesse added with a smirk. He clearly knew how I was not planning on using that thing. At all.
Caden looked unsure for a minute. I couldn't blame him.
I sighed in relief.
"We need to get going." Seth looked at Caden. "If we need to catch up to that goblet."
They all nodded and went towards the back of the car to get their things out. Weapons probably.
"You really shouldn't be doing this." He stepped towards me with a frown.
"Oh, come on. Don't you trust me?" I asked.
"You could get hurt."
"I'll take care of myself."
He cupped my face and pressed his lips against mine.
"Look, I'm not planning on losing you. At all." He pointed out, gazing right in my eyes. "Just keep that in your stupid head."
I smiled against his lips.
