"K'Lynn I swear to god I want you out of my house this very second." My dad pinched the bridge of his nose, sighing.

"Dad hear me out please."

"There's nothing more you can say and I'm not gonna repeat myself. Get the fuck—"

"You might be my dad but do not curse at me. Parent or not I can get real disrespectful."

"You already did by breaking my number one rule. Acting like your no good ass of a mother."

"You know what, Patrick, I'll gladly get out of your house. When you see me doing good without you do not claim to be my parent. You ain't nothing but a bitch." I walked to my room and grabbed two old backpacks before stuffing clothes and undergarments in one and then shoes in my other one.

In a cross over bag I put my hygiene things in there.

I slammed the door on the way out and walked wherever my feet lead me. I didn't know where to go. I had no idea where a shelter was, but I'd be damned if I slept in one.

Everything felt so surreal right now. I couldn't believe that my own dad didn't trust what I was telling him.

Eventually I got tired of walking and my feet stopped in front of a Diner.

I went inside my purse and counted the money. I had $200 to my name and a credit card. I would just check the balance later.

After I walked in I set my bags down and then slide into the booth.

"Good morning beautifully my name is Kim and— K'Lynn?"

I looked up from the menu and met eyes with the woman. Her and her son used to go to my church but once her husband died they stopped going.

She looked at my bags then sighed and slid into the booth next to me.

"Please don't tell me this isn't what it looks like."

"My dad kicked me out."

"Brother Patrick kicked you out? Oh baby." She reached her hand out to me and I flinched.

"I don't like being touched."

"Okay. Just tell me why he kicked you out."
