One Night

One night, I saw you standing
In field full of flowers.
One night, I saw you whispering
To yourself, " it's over at last."
One night, I saw you crying,
Over friends you've lost in the war.
One night was all it took for us both,
to get back to the way we were before.

And all those days and those years
That we spent apart from each other
Came flashing back at me
Taking me away from you, my love
And I could feel only agony,
I had gripped your sleeve too hard out of fear,
My past gripping hard onto me,
Telling tales full of pain and misery.
As if it had happened only seconds ago,
We were back to where it all started before.

One night, I saw you smiling,
Down at me, your eyes full of love
One night, I saw you fighting,
The dark inside you, my love.
One night, I saw you standing,
Alone on the grounds for a war.
One night, was all it took for us both,
to get back to the way we were before.

And I had been afraid to let you go
All alone to the battle field
A King with a million enemies
And no one to call for in need.
As you wage a war against death,
I wish the life had been mine,
For you my love, I would give up the world
And for you I would take their lives.

One night, I saw you waking up,
Defeating your inner enemies.
One night, I saw you walking up,
To the throne, in your true glory.
One night, I saw you sitting crowned
And to you had all of them kneeled.
