"I come from a wealthy family," you shrugged. "And my job's well paying." You said, opening the door.
"You're really lucky," Grant said. You turned to see Grayson holding up and you smiled. "You're rich!" He said. You shook your head,
"I'm definitely not rich, but I am thankful for what I have," You said. "Let's get you all fixed up." You led them into your house.
"Do you live here by yourself?" Grayson asked. You nodded, setting your purse down as you led them into your kitchen. "Isn't it lonely?" He asked. You opened your medicine cabinet.
"At times, yeah," You said, pulling out the peroxide. "But sometimes it's okay because I can do whatever I want, right?" Grant laughed as Grayson sat him on your kitchen counter.
You walked to the child as you removed the t-shirt piece from his knee. He looked down at the wound and began to cry at the blood. "It's okay buddy," Grayson said, as Grant buried his face into his shirt. "Y/N's going to fix you up." You smiled and began to work your magic.
"This might hurt, just a little bit," You said. You watched Grant suck in a breath as you cleaned the wound. "That's it, we're almost done, my love." You said.
You wrapped the wound with a proper bandage and pinned it all down. You looked up at him as he finished and smiled. "Better?" Grant asked. You nodded.
"All done." You leaned down to kiss it as he giggled. "Now it's going to get all better for sure." You said. He gave you a toothy smile as you checked the time. It was getting late.
"Am I allowed to play your piano?" Grant asked you. You smiled at him.
"Grant, no," Grayson said. You looked up at Grayson, who you now noticed was much taller than you.
"You should stay for a little," You turned to the child. Yes, you're allowed to play my piano," He laughed as you pulled him off of the counter and set him down. He limped out of the kitchen.
"You really don't have to-" You cut Grayson off.
"Oh shush," He laughed as he took a seat at your table. "Would you like something to eat, coffee or something?" He shook his head and grabbed a banana from the fruit basket.
"Can I have this?" You nodded smiling, grabbing an iced coffee from your fridge for yourself. You sat down next to him at the table, as he peeled his banana. "Thank you," He said.
"Oh don't worry about it." You said, sipping your coffee. "I'd give you a shirt if I had one that would fit you. Or if I had a boyfriend or brother that had a shirt tha-" He looked down at his ripped shirt and cut you off.
"You don't have a boyfriend?" He asked. You smiled and shook your head. "But you're so pretty, how could you not..." He trailed off, eating his banana. You chuckled.
"And you're so young, I did not expect Grant to be your son," You said, immediately regretting it. "I'm sorry, that was rude," You muttered.
"No no, it's okay." He said. "I'm 23," He said. You looked up, eyebrows raised.
"Your wife?" You asked quietly. Grayson quickly looked back at Grant smashing away at the keyboard, which he thought was a piano.
"I don't have-" You immediately began apologizing before he shook his head and continued. "My girlfriend had him when we were 19, and then after we had him, she cheated." You apologized once again and put your hand on his.
"I'm really sorry," He shook his head as Grant walked back in. "I'm so sorry," You whispered.
"Dad! I made a song," Grant said before leaving again. Grayson chuckled and turned back at you.
"When she left, she took everything I had. I have a crappy job, crappy apartment, shitty everything really." You sighed as he looked around. "That's why Grant said you were rich; compared to us you really are." He sighed and leaned back.
"I'm sorry," He shook his head.
"Don't be." You looked back at your hand still on his. You decided to leave it there. "So what's your story?" He asked smiling. You sighed shrugging.
"Well, I'm 22, just graduated." He nodded and you took a sip of your coffee, "I work at an environmental development company," You said. He nodded again.
"Fancy," You let out a laugh. "So you're saving the earth then?" You shrugged,
"One step at a time, right?" He chuckled. "So that's where the house comes from. I, uh yeah, live on my own." You finished.
"And you're single." He added. You laughed and nodded. "I could maybe, change that?" Your eyes widened.
"Grayson," you started. He shrugged.
"I don't have much, but I'll give you everything I have," You smiled in awe and nodded. "And Grant loves you so, it's a yes from him." You laughed, as Grant himself walked in limping.
"I'm tired, guys," His tiny voice said. He looked over at you and Gray's hands and you stood up, pulling away.
"Well then," Grayson stood up and lifted Grant up, careful of his knee, "Guess we should be heading home." You smiled and walked them to your door.
"Do you need a ride home?" You asked quickly. Grayson shook his head. "Are you sure, I don't mind." You said.
"Nope, it'd be more efficient to take the bus," He said. You laughed as you opened the door. "So I'll see you soon." You'd given him your number just before Grant had come in.
"Come by whenever, and I'll make you food," You said. Grayson chuckled, before walking out. "Bye Grant. Bye, Grayson." You said smiling.
"Bye y/n!" Grant said. You smiled and waved.
"Bye gorgeous," You blushed and waved at him, stomach full of butterflies.
