Twenty minutes in, that's all it took for Peter to eat the entire bowl of chips. Twenty minutes. You weren't even sure what the movie was actually about yet, then he goes pushing the empty bowl into your arms rambling on about how he was too comfortable to get up, and if he did he wouldn't settle properly for the rest of the movie.

So with a sigh, you take the bowl from him and head into the kitchen, passing a curious Aunt May along the way. She follows you, like you knew she would, and leans against the counter as you fish out the bag of chips to refill the bowl.

"Ate them all already, huh?" She rolls her eyes, scoffing fondly. "That's Peter for you."

You smile. "Sure is." You set the bag down. "He got into this whole speech about being too comfortable to move, and if he got up from his spot he would never settle down again."

"Code for 'I'm just too lazy'." She retorts, and you can't help but actually laugh at that.

May is nice to you. May likes you. May is nothing but supportive of your relationship with Peter. But she tends to be overprotective. She worries, like any parent figure would about their teenage child. Dating is complicated, and life changing, and you can understand that. So you don't mind when May hovers sometimes. It just shows you how much she cares, in her own overbearing and overprotective way. It's cute.

"Are you staying the night?" She asks, cutting your laughter short.

At first you thought she was hovering, trying to scope you out. But now you weren't sure what this is. Is this a shake down? Is this the typical 'break his heart and I'll make you regret it' moment? Had you done something wrong?

"Yeah, I think so. Unless..."

"No, no!" She cuts you off. "That's fine with me, just no funny business. You know the drill."
