If I could, I'd tell you to wrap me in your arms and never let me go. I'd tell you to whisper sweet nothings in my ear as you stroke the crook of my hip. I'd tell you that there is nothing in this world I want more than to stay by your side. I'd tell you that I belong to you.
If I could, I'd give you the happiness you deserve. I'd give you the world. I'd take the very weight of the world off your shoulders and bare it along with my sorrows.
If I could, I'd never treat you the way she did. I'd never break your heart or abandon you when you need me the most. I'd never betray you or harm you.
If I could, I'd love you. If I could, I'd try to be the best woman in the world for you. If I could, I'd aspire to make you happy every minute of every day. If I could, I'd show you off every chance I get. If I could, I'd never stop telling you what you mean to me.
But ever since second grade, I've been afraid of Show and Tell.
