Zak returned from being in my hometown. Unfortunately, he ran into my ex. I just hope that he didn't follow Zak. My ex was known for doing that. Zak was asleep on the couch when there was a knock on the front door. Zak shot up. We both didn't tell anyone where we were and even Gracie was protecting me, growling at the door.
Zak carefully walked over and told me to get into the bedroom with Gracie and barricade the door. Nodding in agreement, Gracie and I ran in there and pushed a dresser in front of the door. Zak had then opened the door.
"What the hell are you doing here?!"
"Where is she?" a familiar voice echoed.
"I'm not going to tell you," Zak said.
I then decided to draw the blinds down and turn the light off. I remained in a corner where I wouldn't be seen just in case he decided to try to find me.
"I said," the voice repeated, getting louder. "Where is she?!"
"And I told you," Zak growled. "I am not telling you!!"
Something had thudded. It sent vibrations in the floor.
"Did you see what I just did to you? I will do it again if you don't tell me where she is," the voice said evilly.
"Go fuck yourself," Zak grunted.
Something had hit a wall.
It was then that things started to knock over and Zak started grunting more. After five minutes, it was calm. I stood up carefully and gently walked over to the door when the window broke in the bedroom. The blinds were pulled down forcefully and there was Todd. Green eyes, black hair, a smile that said bad boy, but even you knew it was evil.
"Hey, babe. It's time to come home," he ordered.
"Go fuck yourself, Todd!! I don't belong to you!!"
"Actually, you do!! When we fucked, that meant that I own you!"
I pulled the dresser out of the way as I ordered Gracie to protect me. She ran and bit his arm which caused him to step backwards. When I got the dresser out of the way, I ran to Zak who was on the ground beaten.
"Baby, we gotta go," I said. "Now."
"I can walk, but I need help."
I grabbed his arm and threw it over my shoulder as we hurried out the door with Gracie before us. It didn't take long to get to his car. I put him on the passenger side as Gracie jumped in back.
"Shit," I whispered as Zak tossed me his keys.
I started the ignition and started pulling out.
"Can you even drive?" Zak groaned.
"No, baby, but we're getting out of here like the Indy 500!!"
As Zak laughed, I drove quickly watching Todd's car behind us. I saw his smile and the next thing I knew, I was driving backwards. Just putting myself on reverse and keeping an eye on the review mirror. I stuck my middle finger out. As I turned Zak's car around to drive correctly, I went faster until I finally found a place to hide. He might have been behind me, but as I went faster, he lost me.
Stopping behind a hotel, I heard his car drive by. Zak and I sighed deeply in relief. Zak then began to laugh.
"Yeah, that really did feel like the Indy 500," he joked.
"Shut up," I joked, laughing.
"How did you learn to drive backwards?" He wondered.
"I didn't," I stated. "I thought that it looked so easy on movies, so I tried it on my own."
Zak shook his head.
"We need to get you to a doctor," I alarmed.
"Baby, it's not that bad."
"The fuck it is! That was done by a human! It was not a spirit this time!"
He sighed deeply as he rested his hand upon mine.
"Okay, we'll go."
