Chapter 16

1 year later...

Taehyung's POV

"I do" Jimin beamed as the words left Kiki's lips. The two had finally tied the knot, they really were a perfect couple. They kissed each other with more passion than needed making the crowd roar with whistles and laughter. I clapped my hands and glanced around, I didn't realize they knew so many people

"Who are you looking for?" I glanced over at my wife and sighed "No one" she didn't seem to buy my words. Nor should she, she knew exactly who I was looking for. We had fought about coming to this event because of her. But I just needed to see her, I needed to see that she was okay.

As the crowd followed the bride and the groom out I glanced around again and didn't see her. I for sure thought she would of been in the wedding seeing as she was both of their best friends. But a lot can happen in a year I suppose. I did however meet a pair of eyes I had completely forgotten about. Jungkook.

He gave me a weak smile and then disappeared into the sea of people.

As the evening went on I still had no sight of her. "She's probably not here you idiot, can you just relax. You are here with me, your wife remember" I glared "Yeah it's hard to forget" she glared back at me as another group of people came up to us and asked for our photo.

It was getting quite annoying but I put on a fake smile and went with it. I really was living in my own personal hell, every day was torture.
But every time I got to sneak away and visit my mother it all seemed worth it, she had bought a small house just off the coast. It actually wasn't too far from where y/n's dad lived.

She found peace out there as well as a new boyfriend. She was happy and in love, it was what she deserved. I never mentioned how I was every time she would interrogate me I easily avoided her questions. The less she knew about what I had to do over this last year the better.

"Taehyungie!" I groaned as Jimin made his way over to us with Kiki glued to his side. "What did I say about calling me that" he laughed as I stood up and gave them both a hug "Kiki you look absolutely stunning and Jimin...well you look okay" he laughed and hit my chest. I felt the annoying presence rise to her feet next to me and cleared her throat. I rolled my eyes and quickly introduced her.

"So uh where is the rest of the gang?" I asked and they both eyed me knowing exactly who I was referring to. "Jungkook is around here somewhere" Kiki said glancing around, Jimin looked down at his feet before meeting my eyes. "And y/n?" I asked. I could feel my wife huff as she plopped down on her chair. "Oh um I'm not to sure, she wasn't sure if she was going to make it to the wedding" I looked at them surprised.

"We kind of lost touch over the last year..." Jimin said sorrow taking over his eyes as well as Kiki's. "Oh...that's uh really surprising you guys were all so close. Jungkook doesn't talk to her?" They both shook their head no and I felt pain in my chest. Where was she? I really hoped she would be here so I can see for myself that she was okay.

"That's too bad" I rolled my eyes and glared down at my wife. She scoffed and then took another sip of her wine. "Well um you guys should go mingle we can catch up later" they both gave me another hug and kissed my cheek before wondering off. "I'm going to get another drink" I mumbled before heading over to the bar area.

"Looking for her to huh?" I looked over and seen Jungkook standing a stool away from me drink in hand. I nodded and sat next to him "I must say I'm really surprised you don't talk to her" he shrugged "Yeah well I did what was best for both of us. We both needed space sense you came and fucked everything up" I rolled my eyes. "I didn't do anything but be a friend to her, you probably pushed her away all on your own. You were always so possessive over her"

To my surprise he didn't fight back he just nodded his head "Yeah your probably right. I did make a lot of mistakes when it came to her" I sighed "I'm sure all my bullshit didn't help you guys out either, sorry about that" he laughed a little and took a sip of his drink before handing me one. "It's fine, so uh how is married life"

I groaned and he laughed "That bad huh?" "You have no idea" he nodded and glanced around the room again. "I don't think she's coming" a thick silence fell between us as we tried to accept the fact that we weren't going to see her.

"The last time I saw her she looked horrible" Jungkook spoke low and his words hit me hard "I felt so guilty but it had already been a few months sense I left. I didn't think it was my place to say anything. Plus she wasn't alone..." the last few words hit the hardest. You can tell it was like spitting poison out when Jungkook said them. "I tried checking on her a few times, but I always seemed to just miss her...our timing was never right" he nodded and downed the rest of his drink. "I guess ours wasn't either"

"Well at least one good thing came out of all this" I looked over at him a bit confused before I followed his fingers. I smiled looking at Jimin and Kiki "How the fuck did those two get so lucky" we both laughed as we watched the happy couple talk to someone. Jimin seemed to cling to the person as Kiki wipes her eyes. We both watched from afar and as Jimin pulled away from his tight embrace on the person.

There she was. Y/n...
