"What's the matter? Thought you loved larb. It's too larby? Not larby enough. How many times do I have to say "larb" before you talk to me? You know I larb you." May bites her lip and looks longingly to Peter. She then glances at me and gives me a smile.

"I'm just stressed. The internship, and I'm tired. A lot of work. The Stark internship." He says to her.

"I have to tell you, not a fan of that Tony Stark. I love you Em, but Tony, he just has a way of making you feel-"

"Dirty? Yeah, you'd be surprised how many people have told me that. But he's a good guy once you get to know him." I say, cutting her off. She gives me a polite smile.

"You're distracted all the time. He's got you in your head." May continues to Peter.

"Mr. Delmars sandwich shop was destroyed...." I hear the tv behind her.

"What does he have you doing?" May asks, not paying attention.

"In an explosion..."

"You need to use your instincts." May continues.

"After an ATM robbery was thwarted by Queens' own crime stopper..."

"What?" May notices Peters attention on the screen behind her.

"...the Spider-Man. As the Spider-Man attempted
to foil their heist... a powerful blast was set off, slicing through the bodega across the street. Miraculously, no one was harmed."

"If you spot something like that happening, you turn and you run the other way. Both of you. You may not be my daughter, Em, but I care about you too." May says to both of us.

"Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Of course." We both say, glancing at each other.

"Six blocks away from us." She continues.

"I need a new backpack." Peter says, out of the blue.

"What?" She says, putting her hand behind her ear. I let out a little laugh.

"I need a new backpack." He repeats.

"That's five." She looks at me. "I bet Emerson doesn't lose her stuff all the time." I smile and look up at the waiter setting down another plate.

"Sticky rice pudding." He says.

"We didn't order that." May says to the young man.

"It's on the house." He gives May a little wink. I try to hold in my laughter.

"Thanks." She smiles and starts to move dishes around to set it in the middle of the table. "That's nice of him."

"I think he larbs you, May" I say to her.

She makes a gesture towards herself, with a shocked face.

We finish eating and head back to the apartment. It's getting late and May asks Peter to start on his homework.

"Thanks for dinner May." I call out to her before we enter his bedroom.

He sits down and gets out his homework, but I can see that something is puzzling him.

"What's on your mind?" I ask.

"I cant stop thinking about those high-tech weapons." He says, looking up at me.

"What do you mean?"

"Like did they make them themselves or did they buy them from someone else? And how did they get the power for them?"

"I don't know. I wonder how long they've been building those things? Like is it fairly recently or are we just now coming into contact with them?" I say. We think on it for a bit. Peter finishes his homework and I mess with my new tech that I keep in my utility belt.
