We spend all night lost in each other’s company and conversation. I’m falling head over heels for Hunter. It’s inevitable.
He drops me off in my driveway at 3am. I sneak in the back door. Everyone is asleep, even Sophia. She’s passed out on the couch in my bedroom. She looks so cute when she sleeps. I grab a blanket from the closet and cover her up then strip down and find my favorite t-shirt to slip on. As I slump into my bed I flick off the tv which is silently blaring Raid My Room from the screen.
“Soph and her shows,” I scoff playfully.
My pillows are very welcoming after all the things I’ve had going through my head for a few days. I drift off thinking about Hunter and I, where we might be in a few weeks and if we will end up being the cutest couple ever.
It’s 5:15am now, my phone is vibrating and it wakes me up. It’s a new Kik message from Hunter.
“Hey beautiful, I’m so sorry that I fell asleep as soon as I got home. I was exhausted from everything. All the emotions, the craziness of our situation, my ex, …us”
Wait, did Hunter just say us? His ex? What? Is there an us? Did she contact him? Will there even be an us? My heart skips a beat and without thinking I reply back
“Us? Since when? Your ex? Really?!? I miss you.”
Hunter has completely captivated me and I’m falling in love. Yes, I said it. Falling in love. I fall back asleep and start to dream about this “us” that he mentioned. It’s such a sweet thing to think about.
At around 9:45am Wes wakes Sophia and I up for breakfast. He wants pancakes and cereal. We’re happy to oblige. It’s a Saturday, so why not? When Sophia and Wes are finally sitting down eating I slip upstairs to check my phone. I open Kik and begin reading.
