What I've been up to...

If there is anything about me you should know, it's that summer is my least favorite season. That being said, this one hasn't been so bad just yet.

Yes, I am still job hunting over a year after graduating college. Yes, I am still trying to find a way to manage my student loans. Yes, I am still being financially irresponsible.

But, I've been feeling a lot better and wanting to do things that I used to love doing (like...writing...) again, so I'd call that a win for now. Last year I read 28 books total, and now this year I've already read 20, so I'm even reading more. It's truly been wonderful.

Sweating is gross and stuff, and sun screen is expensive (Take care of your skin! Don't buy Nuetrogena sun screen! Message me for help finding sun screen that isn't harmful to you!), but as long as I can avoid the heat on warmer days, the weather hasn't even been that bad. We've been getting a lot of rain in good ol' Wisconsin, which I love, and a lot of gray days. Hopefully July and August don't kill me, but I'll keep you posted on that.

Nothing exceptionally exciting has been happening outside of me not dying yet from the summer heat, so I'll end this portion here.

Enjoy college while you can, friends. If you don't get a job right away, things get really boring afterwards when all your friends are scattered across the country.

What I've been loving...

Okay, this is the portion I'm most worried about writing, because we all know I can get carried away when discussing things I've been loving in the past month or so. I'll do my best to reign it in.

In the music world, my sun sign-sharing husband Shawn Mendes (whom I just learned is 6'2" can you believe because I couldn't) just dropped a bomb duet with Camila Cabello called Señorita, and I can't express how much I love it. The music video makes me feel things.

So naturally, in response to my love for this song, I've been revisiting Shawn's last album and remembering how much I adored it. I've also been revisiting Taylor Swift's entire discography for some reason? I enjoyed You Need to Calm Down, but I never expected it to make me want to listen to, say, The Story of Us again. Yet here I am.

I've also really been enjoying Sabrina Carpenter's new song In My Bed, which includes a fun play on the phrase "in my head about it." It's a fun little bop, and I highly recommend.

And at the time I'm posting this, Julia Michaels has been posting snippets of songs from her upcoming EP "Inner Monologue pt. II" which is great, because I barely survived part one. And the snippet for Falling For Boys? I'm going to die. I'm so excited to see her live in November.
